Gelieferte Ware entnommen und Katze ergreift sofort Besitz des geleerten Kartontns !

Delivered goods removed and cat immediately takes possession of the empty box!

This large psychedelic painting done on the floor of a public area intrigued me.

It seems to be inviting people to dance together. Best seen large by clicking on the photo

I never thought I'd ever see one!

Usually found in the South Atlantic yet here it is off the north east coast of England

And it flew at less than 10ft from us

Fantastic!

How did it get here?

One theory is that it's young bird that somehow took a 180 degree turn in the wrong direction and just kept going

It's 8,000 miles from here to the Falklands

Extraordinary when you think about it

Sadly It's highly unlikely that this bird will ever make it back down to the southern oceans because of the effort required., plus the unhelpful prevailing winds added to which the usually windless conditions around the equator

Taking all that into account I hope he doesn't even try

But lonely? No

He appears to be happy and settled amongst a UK Gannet colony., there's plenty of fish to eat in the sea., and he's certainly making a lot of bird watchers and photographers very happy watching him from the cliff tops

He's a bit of a star and you get the feeling that somehow he knows it

A semi-abstract illustration of a field of red poppies.

Having never seen one of these beetles before walking through my local area in Kingston Park, Newcastle upon Tyne the planted lilac in front of the McDonalds restaurant was covered in dozens of these beetles, a quick unscientific count put it at more than 50 but probably significantly more.

A native of Southern Europe they only arrived in the UK in the 1990s but clearly spreading and getting very well established these day.

Not particularly good news for the plants they and their larvae feed on but a very eyecatching beetle.

Orange flower found in my neighborhood on the Big Island of Hawaii.

#macromondays #figurine

I decided to share another image which would have also deserved it to get added for the upcoming #macromondays theme called #figurine

In littleworld the citizens are well known for beeing sportive. From time to time they do yoga to bring their body and mind back into harmony

A figurine is a small, three-dimensional sculpture or model that represents a person, animal, deity, or object. Figurines are often made from materials such as porcelain, ceramic, metal, wood, plastic, or resin. They can serve decorative, religious, cultural, or collectible purposes.

Types of Figurines

Decorative Figurines – Often used for home decor, these can include porcelain dolls, crystal animals, or handcrafted wooden sculptures.

Collectible Figurines – Popular among hobbyists, examples include Funko Pop! figures, anime figurines, and action figures from franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, and Pokémon.

Religious and Mythological Figurines – Small statues of deities, saints, or mythological beings used in worship or spiritual practices (e.g., Buddha statues, Hindu god idols, nativity scene figures).

Historical and Archaeological Figurines – Ancient cultures created figurines for ceremonial or artistic purposes, such as Venus figurines from the Paleolithic era or Egyptian ushabti figurines.

Gaming and Tabletop Miniatures – Used in tabletop games like Warhammer, Dungeons & Dragons, and board games, these small figurines represent characters, creatures, or game pieces.

Flowers and plants growing wildly on a warm summer's day.

For sheer diversity and density of wildflowers, there is just no place on earth like the meadows of Mount Rainier in the summer. I shot this at sunrise when the fog started to clear. You can see the morning dew on the asters in the foreground. I was hoping that the bit of clouds above the mountain would stick around but it started to move away as the sun came up.

Continuing my exploration of Birmingham while most folk are asleep in their beds (at least until travelling a bit further afield doesn't feel so exotic). The Cube is an eyecatching piece of architecture on its own, but I love how its modern styling contrasts with some of the older buildings that line Birminghams Canals.

Not resting only in the sunshine as I say below ...

"Appearances can be misleading, however. While taking advantage of the calm sunshine the lady, an artist, is busy painting on variously sized and shaped pebbles/rocks eyecatching designs and mottoes which they leave about the place to be found and enjoyed."
