The paradox of tolerance is a philosophical concept suggesting that if a society extends tolerance to those who are intolerant, it risks enabling the eventual dominance of intolerance, thereby undermining the very principle of tolerance. This paradox was articulated by philosopher Karl Popper in The Open Society and Its Enemies (1945), where he argued that a truly tolerant society must retain the right to deny tolerance to those who promote intolerance. Peaceful Pakistan
In the recent years Pakistan has become more and more famous for its unstable political and disastrous economical situation, for terrorism, inequality or discrimination i.e. against minorities. Nevertheless Pakistan is still one of the most beautiful and underestimated countries I have ever visited. I can ensure that not everyone in Pakistan is a terrorist or extremist nor is the country full of extremism or hatespeeches – as media illustrates or simplifies sometimes. The average Pakistani is a friendly person with whom you would like to talk and maybe drink a cup of Chai. The people I met were open minded and gave me always the opportunity to speak about problems and their daily life experiences. Pakistan has a lot of potential to grew, develop and prosper but there are still many problems to face, especially corruption or greedy politicians who do not care about their own nation but their moneybags.
I had a great time visiting the natural diversities of Pakistans landscape although I could not visit the Northern Areas of Pakistan like Karakoram or the Himalaya nor Balochistan in the West at the Irianian boarder. InshAllah the future will allow me to do so wink emoticon

In den vergangenen Jahren ist Pakistan vor allem wegen seiner politischen Instabilität, seiner katastrophalen ökonomischen Situation oder aber wegen des Terrors, der Ungerechtigkeit und der Diskriminierung im Land bekannt geworden – wobei sich Letztere insbesondere gegen die Minderheiten richtet.
Dennoch ist Pakistan für mich eines der schönsten und zugleich unterschätzten Länder. Ich hatte den Eindruck, dass in Pakistan nicht jeder ein Terrorist oder Extremist ist, weder das ganze Land im Hass oder dem Terror nachläuft – so wie es gelegentlich in den Medien vermittelt oder sehr banal dargestellt wird. Die Pakistani die ich getroffen und kennengelernt habe waren weltoffen und haben sich gern bereit erklärt bei einer Tasse (oder auch mehreren) Chai und grünem Tee über ihr Leben und ihre Probleme zu berichten.
Meiner Auffassung nach hat Pakistan ein enormes Potential zu wachsen, sich zu entwickeln und in allen Bereichen große Fortschritte zu machen. Dies gelingt noch nicht, da Pakistan an vielen Stellen zu kämpfen hat – insbesondere gegen die Korruption und auch gegen die eigenen Politiker, die es wichtiger erachten ihre eigene Taschen als Ihr Mandat pflichtbewusst zu füllen.
Jedenfalls hatte ich eine große Freude die natürliche Vielseitigkeit dieses Landes (erneut) kennenzulernen, obwohl ich nicht in die Gebirgsgegenden rund um Karakorum, Himalaya im Norden oder nach Belutschistan im Westen gereist bin. Das werde ich inshAllah dann in der Zukunft nachholen wink emoticon

to some extent there's always going to be financial winners and losers in life's loaded lottery but the last thirty odd years can hardly be seen as progressive. during this period we've seen the emergence of globalization and identity politics along with the crushing underfoot of trades unions. it now seems apparent that if things continue the way they're going we will almost certainly see a growth in nationalism, terrorism and extremism of all sorts right across the globe. without wishing to be pessimistic i must say that within my lifetime the world has never appeared, to me at least, to be in such an unstable state.

We are our own worst enemy. It's too easy to demonize others. It's too easy to dehumanize brown and black people. And, it's too easy to be fearful when those who condemn our country's values come from elsewhere. But, what happens when that condemnation comes from Americans? Extremism in any form and from any place is dangerous.
Donald Trump and the GOP are ignoring one of the most dangerous concerns to our national tranquility, homegrown extremists. Executive Order 13224, signed by President George W. Bush after 9/11, gives the government legal tools to deal with international terrorism. But, it doesn't convey to domestic hate groups. In fact, the Immigration and Nationality Act expressly prohibits the Department of State from "sanctioning groups with a significant domestic presence."
Right-wing extremism is not new. Yet, there is no federal law that criminalizes domestic terrorist groups. In fact, crimes (like the ones which killed many in El Paso and Dayton) are more likely to be treated as hate crimes than terrorism. Because of this distinction, there is no law that prohibits funding or allows authorities to freeze funds for domestic groups as there is with foreign-based ones. There is no law that prohibits material support for domestic terrorists. And, there is no law that prohibits these groups from using social media and other technology to incite violence. Yes, the First Amendment protects citizens' right to free speech. But, there's a distinction between that right and the right to directly call for violent action. The 1969 Supreme Court case Brandenburg v. Ohio stated the government cannot use the First Amendment to surpress speech that advocates violence. It can only take action when that speech directs to incite or produce "imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action."
Just as important, statements by President Trump, calling immigration from Central America an invasion, referring to himself as a nationalist, telling four nonwhite Congresswomen to "go back" to where they "originally came from," and his recent demonization of Jews who vote Democratic as "disloyal," not only have emboldened white supremacists, but have been downplayed by Trump's supporters as comical, off-the-cuff remarks and ignored by the Republican Party.
Americans are at risk because the safeguards set up by our Founding Fathers are not working. Reasonable gun control legislation is consistently blocked by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. After the El Paso shooting, Trump stated his support for background checks, that is, until NRA Chief Executive Wayne LaPierre called the president. Suddenly, Donald had a change of heart. It's time to start thinking for ourselves. Be informed. Check out multiple news outlets. Explore these sources for their biases. Biases aren't necessarily bad; we all have them. But, being unaware of them can lead us to accept false information.
And, most of all, vote for those politicians who support your own self-interests. Concerned about healthcare? See who supports affordable health insurance without pre-exisiting conditions. Question those who want to gut the Affordable Care Act without having any counter proposals. Politicians are politicians, no matter which party they come from. But, support those who support your concerns. Question their motives and advocate for the end to the extreme polarization that has taken over Washington and the country. Finally, participate in the electoral process. Get to know the candidates' stands and vote!
The downfall of the American way of life won't come from the Islamic State. It will come from within. Ignorance and fear is rotting America's core values. It's time to stop being our own worst enemy.

"Silent waters" focuses on a small Pakistani village during post partition era, telling a mix of stories. The heart of the movie spins around religious ignorance, cultural extremism, innocence, romance and piety. A very heart wrenching yet one of the finest movies by Kiran Kher. All the Pakistani and Indian actors did justice to their characters. A truly superior production and a touching tale.

Dean was once the owner of one of Avalon City's best animal reserve for endangered animals until he discovered that a few of his workers were illegally allowing T.O.X.I.N. to borrow them for their research. Outraged at this Dean attempted to intercept the members of T.O.X.I.N. but was outnumbered and swiftly defeated and brought back to their facility where he was used as a test subject. After a variety of different torturous experiments were conducted on Dean it resulted in his abilities, they used elephant genetics to fuse to Dean which granted him his advanced memory and strength as well as a few other powers. With his elephant memory, he quickly discovered the access codes throughout the facilities and was able to break out with his powers. However when he returned he discovered it had been months he was captured and that his animal sanctuary was being taken over and destroyed by the secret villain known as "Big Shot" who he tried to reason with, despite his pleas Big Shot rejected Dean about keeping the sanctuary.
Dean decided to then take matters into his own hands and proceeded to steal and relocate animal by animal with help from the many members of "Animal Kingdom" into their underground secretive sanctuary of rescued animals, in return for him joining their cause for animal welfare extremism.

Die Demo startet in der Nähe des Roten Rathauses und führt durch die Innenstadt bis vor den Hauptbahnhof. Unter den Teilnehmern befinden sich auch NPD-Führungskader Uwe Meenen, sowie Hooligans aus dem Bärgida-Umfeld. sowie Personen die deutlich dem rechtsextremen Spektrum angehören.
In Sprechchören fordern die Teilnehmer "Merkel muss weg" und "Wer Deutschland nicht liebt, soll Deutschland verlassen".
Bereits mehrere Stunden vor dem AfD-Aufmarsch startete die erste Gegendemonstration von Personen aus dem linken Spektrum von der Kochstraße aus bis zum Bebelplatz, welcher an der AfD-Strecke liegt. Rund 1000 Menschen nahmen daran teil und machten ihre Ablehnung der AfD und ihre Unterstützung von Refugees deutlich.
Schon während der Auftaktkundgebung der AfD unweit des Roten Rathauses ist diese von Antifaschisten umzingelt, die lautstark ihren Unmut ausdrücken. Dabei kommt es auch zu einem versuchten Angriff von Hooligans und rechtsextremen Teilnehmern der AfD-Kundgebung auf die Gegendemonstranten. Anwesende LKA-Beamten schreiten nur zögerlich ein. Festnahmen gibt es nur auf Seiten der Gegendemonstranten.
Zum Start der AfD-Demonstration, die vom Führungspersonal Frauke Petry, ihrem Partner und NRW-Chef der AfD Marcus Pretzell, dem Brandenburger AfD-chef Alexander Gauland, sowie Beatrix von Storch, MdEP angeführt wird, kommt es zu einer kurzen Blockade-Aktion, teilweise älterer Menschen, die durch die Polizei geräumt wird.
Während der ganzen Strecke sehen sich die Teilnehmer der AfD-Demo zudem mit heftigen und lautstarken Gegenkundgebungen konfrontiert. Dabei kommt es immer wieder zu versuchten Übergriffen von AfD-Teilnehmern auf die Gegendemonstranten.
Kritisch wird es, als eine Spontandemonstration von rund 200 linken Personen, teilweise aus dem autonomen Spektrum, offenkundig ihr Ende direkt am AfD-Aufzug finden soll. Dies wird von der Polizei mit körperlicher Gewalt und Pfefferspray abgewehrt.
Die AfD-Demonstration erreicht den Hauptbahnhof, wo eine Abschlusskundgebung stattfindet, welche wiederum von antifaschistischen Protesten umzingelt ist und lautstark gestört wird.

Hamburg 28.01.2024 - Demonstration against Right Wing Extremism. "Hamburg steht zusammen - für Vielfalt und Demokratie" - 80 to 100.000 people on the streets.
It was hot and humid morning in Kathankuddi, the eastern town about 350 km from Colombo. The heat was touching 32C.
The women in the head to toe dress, some even wearing socks, did not seem to mind. They walked fast, quickly. The heat was the least of their concerns.
In some parts of Sri Lanka's east, like the towns of Kathankuddi (where 147 Muslims were massacred by the Tamil Tigers in 1990 -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kattankudy_mosque_massacre), Earvur, Ottamavadi, Valechchennei and Kalmunai the burka is the chossen dress for many women. (Amantha Perera)

Anlässlich eines geplanten Aufmarsches von Rechtsradikalen und Neonazis in Berlin Mitte hat die Evangelische Kirche Berlin-Brandenburg Oberlausitz zu einer Demonstration unter dem Motto "Posaunen statt Parolen" vom Brandenburger TOr zum Gendarmenmarkt aufgerufen.
Beginnend mit einer Kundgebung am Brandenburger Tor, an der rund 500 Menschen teilnahmen und ein Posaunenchor spielte, wollten sich die Christen so für ein weltoffenes und tolerantes Berlin einsetzen. Mit Beginn der Demonstration wuchs die Zahl der Teilnehmer auf rund 1500 an. An dem Protest, dessen Aufruf sich diverse Organisationen, darunter auch Gewerkschaften und Parteien, anschlossen, nahmen neben Bischof Dr. Markus Dröge, auch die DGB-Vorsitzende von Berlin/Brandenburg Doro Zinke und der Präsident des Berliner Abgeordnetenhauses Ralf Wieland, sowie die Linken Politiker Petra Pau und Klaus Lederer teil.
Diese hielten auf der Abschlusskundgebung am Gendarmenmarkt auch Reden. Zudem sprach auch Dr. Margot Käßmann und Alper Soytürk von der Islamischen Föderation, sowie Levi Salomon vom Jüdischen Forum für Demokratie.

For those of you who want a better understanding of the ongoing genocidal Israel-Hamas war, it is imperative that you educate yourself on the current political situation inside Israel itself, and especially on how American extremist zionist jews to a large degree have been instrumental in exporting their extremism into Israel and radically transforming Israeli society ever since the start of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and the Golan Heights after the Six-Day War in 1967.
For this very reason, you need to know about one very important key figure: American-born jewish fundamentalist fascist terrorist and extremist Meir Kahane (1934-1990), his legacy and his followers; past and present.
Mad 'rabbi' Kahane´s racist, fascist, ultranationalist, supremacist and religious theocratic ideology - Kahanism - lives on like never before and has grown immensely among his many supporters in Israel - not only among extremist illegal settlers any longer, not only among the odd ordinary Israeli citizen - No, today, this ideology permeates Israeli society itself.
Today, Kahane´s followers are even represented in the jewish fascist Benjamin Netanyahu government; many holding quite influential and powerful minister positions - like (and these are just a few of them):
1.) The infamous terrorist and so-called "Minister of Security" Itamar Ben-Gvir (b. 1976 and hailing from the extremist jewish fundamentalist and religious zionist settlement of Kiryat Arba in Hebron, Occupied Palestine)
2.) The terrorist and so-called "Finance Minister" Bezalel Smotrich (b. 1980 and hailing from the extremist jewish fundamentalist and religious zionist settlement of Kedumim, Occupied Palestine)
3.) The old-skool Moshe Levinger (1935-2015) follower and Gush Emunim settler extremist and so-called "Minister of Settlements" (!) Orit Strook (b. 1960 and hailing from the extremist jewish fundamentalist and religious zionist settlement of Kiryat Arba in Hebron, Occupied Palestine)
4.) Yitzhak Wasserlauf (b. 1992), so-called "Minister for the 'Development' of the Periphery, the Negev and the Galilee".
Therefore, here for your consideration I will present to you three important lectures held on the subject by what must be one of the bravest men in the world: David Sheen [his website is no longer available], an exceptional Israeli Canadian former journalist of the Israeli newspaper Haaretz; now an independent investigative journalist.

- Baruch Goldstein (1956-1994), american-born jewish extremist physician and religious mass-murderer from Brooklyn, New York. Goldstein immigrated to Israel in 1982 and moved to the jewish extremist settler hub in Kiryat Arba / Hebron. In 1994 during Ramadan on the Jewish holiday of Purim he perpetrated the Cave of the Patriarchs massacre in Hebron. Wearing an IDF uniform and armed with an IMI Galil assault rifle, he opened fire on 800 Muslim worshippers inside the Ibrahimi Mosque, managing to kill 29 and wounding 129 before he was beaten to death by the survivors. Baruch Goldstein was a follower of Meir Kahane and a member of terrorist organization Jewish Defense League. Goldstein was number three in the Kach party after Meir Kahane (1932-1990) and Yisrael Ariel (b. 1939). Goldstein´s grave has become a site of pilgrimage and veneration for Jewish extremists, especially during Purim. The tomb of Baruch Goldstein is located in the Meir Kahane Memorial Park in the illegal extremist jewish fundamentalist and religious zionist settlement of Kiryat Arba in Hebron, West Bank, Occupied Palestine.
- Itamar Ben-Gvir (b. 1976), the current Minister of Security and party leader of Otzma Yehudit since 2022. Son of a mother active in the Irgun terrorist organization. Previously convicted of supporting the Kach terrorist organization. Exempted from service in the IDF due to extremist political background. Lawyer known for representing far-right Jewish activists suspected of terrorism and hate crimes; most notably representing the american-born extremist settler Baruch Marzel (b. 1956 in Boston, USA) in Hebron, the «right-hand man» of american-born rabbi Meir Kahane (1932-1990) and a fellow Otzma Yehudit party member. Known for displaying the portrait of american-born extremist settler and terrorist mass-murderer Dr. Baruch Goldstein (1956-1994) in his living-room. Itamar Ben-Gvir has 6 children and is a permanent resident of the illegal extremist jewish fundamentalist and religious zionist settlement of Kiryat Arba in Hebron, West Bank, Occupied Palestine.
- Baruch Marzel (b. 1959), american-born kahanist originally from Boston. His family immigrated to Israel when he was 6 weeks old, when he was 13 he joined the Jewish Defense League. At the age of 14 he was arrested for the first of many times, and when he was 17 he was imprisoned for the first time. An early member of the Kach party, he was Meir Kahane´s parliamentary aide in Knesset and the spokesperson for Kach for 10 years. Marzel is a physically violent man who has been harassing, threatening and assaulting countless Palestinians in Hebron for decades in addition to police officers, left-wing activists, peace activists and journalists. Marzel is known to have shot and killed a 15-year-old Palestinian boy and he has been arrested for conspiring to bomb a Palestinian school. He has also advocated violence against homosexuals in Israel and calling for religious war against them. Together with Bezalel Smotrich (b. 1980) - Israel´s Finance Minister - he arranged the «Beast Parade» in 2006, leading goats and donkeys through the streets in opposition to the Jerusalem gay pride parade.
Marzel is an important and instrumental figurehead for the extreme right in Israel. After the Kach party was banned in 1994, he founded the party Jewish National Front in 2004 and ran for Knesset. After not winning enough votes to enter Knesset, he joined the National Union party and served as fellow extremist and kahanist Michael Ben-Ari´s (b. 1963) parliamentary aide. Together with Bentzi Gopstein (b. 1969) he started Lehava in 2005, a jewish supremacist organization that stricly opposes jewish assimilation, objecting to any relationships between Jews and non-Jews - in 2010 he was urging Israeli model Bar Refaeli (b. 1985) not to marry her non-jewish boyfriend at the time, Leonardo DiCaprio (b. 1974). In 2013 he ran for Knesset again, this time for the Otzma Yehudit party, which had splintered from the National Union party; again not winning enough votes to enter Knesset. In 2015 he ran for Knesset again, but the Election Committee disqualified him from running in the election because of racism. Otzma Yehudit was not extreme enough for Marzel, so in 2022 together with Michael Ben-Ari he started the process of launching a new party to the right of Otzma Yehudit. - Michael Ben-Ari (b. 1963); Ph.D. in Land of Israel and Archaeology studies. If you have ever heard about Gustaf Kossinna (1858-1931) and Nazi archaeology - that´s the kind of scholar Michael Ben-Ari is. Previous member of the Kach terrorist organization; Ben-Ari was banned from running in the 2019 elections due to his extremist political views. - Ovadia Yosef (1920-2013) was the chief rabbi of Israel and spiritual leader of the religious orthodox Shas party. Why are gentiles needed? They´ll work, they´ll plow, they´ll reap. - Ya'akov Yosef (1946-2013) was another son of Ovadia Yosef, also a rabbi and a Knesset representative for the Shas party 1984-1988. In the Knesset Ya'akov Yosef worked ardently on changing and doctoring the laws of Israel so that racism would be allowed so long as it was justified by religious arguments. Ya'akov Yosef openly endorsed rabbi Yitzhak Shapira´s book ’The King's Torah’ (2009) where it is argued that it is permissible for Jews to kill non-Jews, including children, under certain circumstances, and that there may be a reason to kill babies on the enemy side, even if they have not violated any laws, due to the potential future danger they might pose based on the assumption that they will grow up to be evil like their parents. ’The King's Torah’ also proposes that indirect killing of children could be justified as a means of exerting pressure on enemy leaders or if the children are obstructing a rescue operation and their presence contributes to murder.
- Yonatan Yosef, son of Ya'akov Yosef and also a rabbi, an illegal settler in East Jerusalem and former spokesman for the settlers in Sheikh Jarrah. He has been a Jerusalem City Council member since 2018, representing the ultra-orthodox religious zionist party Yachad. When he was 18 years old, he smuggled and collected caches of weapons from the army, plotting to murder Palestinians. He was arrested, but was tipped off by a government minister that the Shin Bet was coming for him; so he managed to get rid of much of the evidence and got off easy. In 2023, he was marching in Sheikh Jarrah with a group of supporters, chanting «We want Nakba, Nakba now!»
- Aryeh King (b. 1973) is the current Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem, representing the ultra-orthodox religious zionist party Yachad. In 2014, he was inciting a group of hundreds of ultra-orthodox men by telling them "This Sabbath we will read about Zimri and Kosbi. Phineas committed the act; he was zealous for God. He got up and committed the act - It´s like that today. Every single person here is like a small Phineas. I call out to all the small Phineas's here! I call on all of us to make a great commotion, wake up! The Lubavitcher rebbe is here with us - I have no doubt he expects us all to commit acts of Phineas." Zimri and Kosbi is a story in the bible, and according to this legend there was a jewish man and a Midianite woman, in other words, it was an interracial relationship. And this priest, Phineas, was so incensed, so disgusted at this miscegenation, at this interracial love that he actually took a spear, according to legend, and he murdered them in the middle of the act of lovemaking. In fact, according to the Talmud it says exactly what that act was: "Miracles were done for Phineas... His aim was through the penis of the man and the vagina of the woman" - that is; he pierced them in their intertwined genitals. - Moshe Feiglin (b. 1962), a kahanist, Likud politician and former Deputy Speaker of the Knesset. As Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, during the 2014 Gaza war he said that «The IDF shall designate certain open areas […] in which the civilian population will be concentrated subsequent to the elimination […] Gaza […] will become part of […] Israel and will be populated by Jews.» Also in 2014, he was inciting for Jews to go and take over the Al-Aqsa mosque. - Yoel Lerner (1941-2014), american-born extremist from Brooklyn, New York who grew up in South Africa. In 1960 he immigrated to Israel where he became a linguist and translator. He became a student of Meir Kahane and a member of the Jewish Defense League; and later became an aide to Kahane. In 1973, Lerner was arrested in a case of arson involving a fire in a shop selling Christian missionary books. In 1975, he was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to harm Henry Kissinger (1923-2023). Newspaper reports said that Lerner «had expressed threats to assassinate Kissinger». In 1978 he was imprisoned for 3 years for conspiracy and illegal possession of weapons. He had founded an underground ring of militants called ‘Gal’ with the aim to overthrow the government and establish a state based on religious law, and kill Arabs. In 1982, Lerner had formed a small youth organization whose aim was to destroy the Dome of the Rock in order to rebuild the Temple Mount, and for this he was sentenced to 5 years in jail, but 2 ½ years of his sentence was suspended. Lerner was married and had eight children.
- Alan Goodman (b. 1945) american-born extremist who moved from Baltimore to Israel in 1977. On Easter morning 1982, wearing an IDF military uniform and armed with an M-16 automatic rifle, he shot his way into the Dome of the Rock, killing two and wounding 11 Palestinians. Sentenced to life imprisonment plus 40 years. Goodman was released after 15 years.
- Yisrael Ariel (b. 1939), number two in the Kach party after Meir Kahane; these days he is propagating the re-introduction of ancient Sanhedrin rabbinical courts in Israel. Arrested several times; in the early 80s for sedition because he was planning to dig a tunnel under the Al-Aqsa mosque in order to take it over and turn it into a jewish settlement. Today, he is the chief rabbi in the state-sponsored Temple Institute, which has a focus on educating children on jewish temples and the establishing of the Third Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
- Craig Leitner, american-born lawyer and former terrorist member of the JDL and Kach who served 30 months in jail for firebombing the Palestinian newspaper Al-Fajar and being involved in the shooting at an arab bus in Ramallah in 1984, injuring 6-7 Palestinians. Together with his lawyer wife Nitsana Darshan-Leitner (b. 1973) in the Shurat Hadin lawfare organization he is mostly involved with legal matters defending terrorists like for instance Yigal Amir (b. 1970); the assassin of Yitzhak Rabin (1922-1995), and Jonathan Pollard (b. 1954); an American-Israeli civilian-employed US Military intelligence analyst who in 1986 was sentenced to life in imprisonment for spying on the United States of America for the State of Israel. It is sickening to see that this man, who betrayed ALL of the NATO countries at the HEIGHT of the Cold War, not just the USA, but ALL WESTERN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES has been living as a free, war-mongering, obvious and public kahanist in Israel since 2021.

As I was descending into the ripe Aryan habitat zone, I encountered this footbridge graffito of snowflakey victimization complex:

Mehrere tausend Menschen sind dem Ruf der rechtsradikalen Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) zu einer Großdemonstration in Berlin gefolgt.
Die Demo startet in der Nähe des Roten Rathauses und führt durch die Innenstadt bis vor den Hauptbahnhof. Unter den Teilnehmern befinden sich auch NPD-Führungskader Uwe Meenen, sowie Hooligans aus dem Bärgida-Umfeld. sowie Personen die deutlich dem rechtsextremen Spektrum angehören.
In Sprechchören fordern die Teilnehmer "Merkel muss weg" und "Wer Deutschland nicht liebt, soll Deutschland verlassen".
Bereits mehrere Stunden vor dem AfD-Aufmarsch startete die erste Gegendemonstration von Personen aus dem linken Spektrum von der Kochstraße aus bis zum Bebelplatz, welcher an der AfD-Strecke liegt. Rund 1000 Menschen nahmen daran teil und machten ihre Ablehnung der AfD und ihre Unterstützung von Refugees deutlich.
Schon während der Auftaktkundgebung der AfD unweit des Roten Rathauses ist diese von Antifaschisten umzingelt, die lautstark ihren Unmut ausdrücken. Dabei kommt es auch zu einem versuchten Angriff von Hooligans und rechtsextremen Teilnehmern der AfD-Kundgebung auf die Gegendemonstranten. Anwesende LKA-Beamten schreiten nur zögerlich ein. Festnahmen gibt es nur auf Seiten der Gegendemonstranten.
Zum Start der AfD-Demonstration, die vom Führungspersonal Frauke Petry, ihrem Partner und NRW-Chef der AfD Marcus Pretzell, dem Brandenburger AfD-chef Alexander Gauland, sowie Beatrix von Storch, MdEP angeführt wird, kommt es zu einer kurzen Blockade-Aktion, teilweise älterer Menschen, die durch die Polizei geräumt wird.
Während der ganzen Strecke sehen sich die Teilnehmer der AfD-Demo zudem mit heftigen und lautstarken Gegenkundgebungen konfrontiert. Dabei kommt es immer wieder zu versuchten Übergriffen von AfD-Teilnehmern auf die Gegendemonstranten.
Kritisch wird es, als eine Spontandemonstration von rund 200 linken Personen, teilweise aus dem autonomen Spektrum, offenkundig ihr Ende direkt am AfD-Aufzug finden soll. Dies wird von der Polizei mit körperlicher Gewalt und Pfefferspray abgewehrt.
Die AfD-Demonstration erreicht den Hauptbahnhof, wo eine Abschlusskundgebung stattfindet, welche wiederum von antifaschistischen Protesten umzingelt ist und lautstark gestört wird.

I reference these quotes just in case anyone might assume that a call for an Intifada is a call for either Islamist extremism or violence. On Saturday 29 October 2023, at least 100,000 and possibly as many as 300,000 people demonstrated in London in solidarity with Palestinians. It was not just a reaction to the devastating bombing of Gaza and the blockade of energy, fuel, electricity, food and water from 2.3 million Palestinians living in the city and the surrounding strip.

As Amnesty International reports Israeli occupation has resulted in "systematic human rights violations against Palestinians living there."

Across the West Bank Palestinians are banned from driving on numerous roads that cross the region and as War on Want explains "Jewish Israelis and Palestinians are treated differently in almost every aspect of life: housing, education, health, employment, family life, residence and freedom of movement. Dozens of Israeli laws and policies institutionalise this prevailing system of racial discrimination and domination."

Across the West Bank there are some 650 Israeli military checkpoints through which only some Palestinians are allowed to pass, often with humiliating questioning and delays, so that they can travel to other towns whether to visit families, seeking medical treatment or for any other reason. 4) The never ending process of Israeli expansion across Palestinian land, including the demolition of 55,000 Palestinian homes since 1967, occurring on a near monthly basis as well as the cutting down of fields of olive trees and the ploughing up of Palestinian farms to make room for yet more illegal settlements subsidised by the Israeli government.
These settlements are illegal under international law, which rightly recognises the 1967 border. However, since 1967, Israel has constructed 250 of them across the West Bank in which over 633,000 Israelis live in subsidised and often luxurious housing with swimming pools and manicured lawns, an unimaginable privilege to the vast majority of Palestinians.

5) Never ending acts of settler terrorism against Palestinians. Western media rightly condemns occasional Palestinian attacks on Israeli civilians, including the appalling atrocities committed by Hamas on 7 October. However, for years illegal Israeli settlers in the West Bank have staged attacks against Palestinians, sometimes motivated sheerly by hatred, but often by the desire to inflict terror and to ethnically cleanse an area. The most recent incident was an attack on Wednesday 11 October in which masked settlers killed three Palestinian villagers and then killed a Palestinian father and son attending the funeral the next day.

6) The division of Palestinian land by the separation wall. The 708 km Separation Wall, completed in 2005, was supposedly built to protect Israel from any Palestinians that might be able to enter the country without permission, but 85% of it runs up to 18 km inside the internationally recognised 1967 boundary ("Green Line"), frequently dividing Palestinians villagers from their farmland as well as running through the middle of farms and dividing arable land from key water supplies.
Some 10% of the West Bank now lies between the wall and the 1967 border, an area into which everyone, except Palestinians, is allowed entry. Not surprisingly, the International Court of Justice has issued an advisory opinion that the separation wall is a contravention of international law and in 2003 the UN General Assembly passed a resolution demanding its removal by 144 votes to just 4. Analysts also fear that the wall acts as a de facto annexation of all the Palestinian land that lies to the west of it.

7) The myth of Palestinian rejectionism. Western mainstream media usually maintains falsely that it is Palestinians that have constantly rejected a two-state solution, whereas the opposite is the case. Arab states and the Palestinians have frequently made clear their willingness to negotiate a future two-state solution on the basis of the 1967 frontiers, while Israel is committed to preventing any such solution and continuing its territorial expansion.
As early as 1976, Egypt, Syria and Jordan presented a two-state solution resolution to the UN Security Council based on the 1967 Green Line (in accordance with the international consensus) but it was vetoed outright by the United States, even though Washington at the time publicly acknowledged the illegality of all Israeli settlements across the Palestinian West Bank. The same happened again in 1980.
Later in 1988, the PLO put forward their position in a declaration by the Palestinian National Council calling for a Palestinian state alongside Israel with guarantees of security to both countries. However in May 1989, Israel's Likud-Labour coalition government made it crystal clear that they would not accept an "additional" Palestinian state between Jordan and Israel, regardless of what Jordanians, Palestinians or the rest of the world might think. The founding charter of Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud Party still "flatly rejects the establishment of a Palestinian state west of the Jordan river."
8) The frequent killing by Israeli security forces of peaceful protesters, women, children, journalists and medics, including the assassination of renowned Al Jazeera correspondent Shireen Abu Akleh in May last year. In the nine months of 2023 prior to 7 October, 248 Palestinians, 40 of them children, had been killed by Israeli soldiers, but these deaths attracted almost no attention in the Western media. Palestinian lives have always been very cheap.

9) The current refusal of Israel to allow any journalists into the Gaza Strip so they can see and report on, obviously at their own risk, the destruction and casualties and suffering of the civilian population.
10) An end to "administrative detentions" across the West Bank under which thousands of Palestinians have been detained without any right to be told under what charges they are being held, let alone any right to a free trial. As the Israeli human rights organisation B'Tselem explains
"Administrative detention is incarceration without trial or charge, alleging that a person plans to commit a future offense. It has no time limit, and the evidence on which it is based is not disclosed. Israel employs this measure extensively and routinely, and has used it to hold thousands of Palestinians for lengthy periods of time. While detention orders are formally reviewed, this is merely a semblance of judicial oversight, as detainees cannot reasonably mount a defense against undisclosed allegations. Nevertheless, courts uphold the vast majority of orders."

11) An end to Israeli soldiers controlling access to and frequently preventing Muslims from visiting the Al Aqsa Mosque in Israeli occupied East Jerusalem [Al Quds], considered the third holiest site in Islam after Mecca and Medina. On several occasions, Israeli troops and/or police have also attacked worshippers using batons, stun grenades and tear gas, igniting understandable anger across the Islamic World. Radical Israeli settlers also sometimes enter under the protection of Israeli security forces and some also perform Jewish rituals in contravention of current agreements about non-Muslims being allowed in, but only as visitors.

Our world has become increasingly polarized/ polarised and unstable. Extremism is not something that exists only in the Middle East or Africa, it is on the rise in many places: in the U.S., UK, China, Japan, France, Russia and Hong Kong, amongst many others.
In the U.S., it has manifested itself in the American presidential election of 2016. The sad news is, both the Democratic nominee Hilary Clinton and the Republican nominee Donald Trump are much detested and distrusted by the American public.

I recently paid a visit to Fred Phelps Westboro Baptist Church compound in Topeka, KS with a picket sign given to me by the cast of "Jesus Christ King of Comedy at the Kansas City Fringe Festival."
As a liberal Kansan I consider Phelps to be a major embarassment to our wonderful state, and hope the rest of the world realizes most Kansans are appalled by his message and behavior.
The infamous Phelps founder and minister of the church is known throughout the world for his message of hatred toward homosexuals and his signature catch phrase "God Hates Fags." He believes many recent natural disasters are God's punishment for those with liberal attitudes with regard to homosexuality.
He, his family and followers frequently picket military funerals to spread the word that "God Hates America" and soldiers are dying due to the acceptance of gays in the military. Their actions prompted the federal and numerous state legislators to pass laws restricting demonstrations at funerals.

Mehrere tausend Menschen sind dem Ruf der rechtsradikalen Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) zu einer Großdemonstration in Berlin gefolgt.
Die Demo startet in der Nähe des Roten Rathauses und führt durch die Innenstadt bis vor den Hauptbahnhof. Unter den Teilnehmern befinden sich auch NPD-Führungskader Uwe Meenen, sowie Hooligans aus dem Bärgida-Umfeld. sowie Personen die deutlich dem rechtsextremen Spektrum angehören.
In Sprechchören fordern die Teilnehmer "Merkel muss weg" und "Wer Deutschland nicht liebt, soll Deutschland verlassen".
Bereits mehrere Stunden vor dem AfD-Aufmarsch startete die erste Gegendemonstration von Personen aus dem linken Spektrum von der Kochstraße aus bis zum Bebelplatz, welcher an der AfD-Strecke liegt. Rund 1000 Menschen nahmen daran teil und machten ihre Ablehnung der AfD und ihre Unterstützung von Refugees deutlich.
Schon während der Auftaktkundgebung der AfD unweit des Roten Rathauses ist diese von Antifaschisten umzingelt, die lautstark ihren Unmut ausdrücken. Dabei kommt es auch zu einem versuchten Angriff von Hooligans und rechtsextremen Teilnehmern der AfD-Kundgebung auf die Gegendemonstranten. Anwesende LKA-Beamten schreiten nur zögerlich ein. Festnahmen gibt es nur auf Seiten der Gegendemonstranten.
Zum Start der AfD-Demonstration, die vom Führungspersonal Frauke Petry, ihrem Partner und NRW-Chef der AfD Marcus Pretzell, dem Brandenburger AfD-chef Alexander Gauland, sowie Beatrix von Storch, MdEP angeführt wird, kommt es zu einer kurzen Blockade-Aktion, teilweise älterer Menschen, die durch die Polizei geräumt wird.
Während der ganzen Strecke sehen sich die Teilnehmer der AfD-Demo zudem mit heftigen und lautstarken Gegenkundgebungen konfrontiert. Dabei kommt es immer wieder zu versuchten Übergriffen von AfD-Teilnehmern auf die Gegendemonstranten.
Kritisch wird es, als eine Spontandemonstration von rund 200 linken Personen, teilweise aus dem autonomen Spektrum, offenkundig ihr Ende direkt am AfD-Aufzug finden soll. Dies wird von der Polizei mit körperlicher Gewalt und Pfefferspray abgewehrt.
Die AfD-Demonstration erreicht den Hauptbahnhof, wo eine Abschlusskundgebung stattfindet, welche wiederum von antifaschistischen Protesten umzingelt ist und lautstark gestört wird.
