This extraordinary holiday resort area was designed by architect Andre Minangoy. Built between 1969 and 1993. Villeneuve-Loubet, France.

At least I think they were weeds. While driving along the Icefields Parkway near Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada I could see miles of what looked like snow lining the highway. I pulled over and discovered loads of what appeared to be weeds. Maybe you know what they are. Anyway it made a nice image. I used Lightroom and Topaz Studio to process.

Asun García Mainar falleció el 16 de Julio de 2017 tras una breve pero dura enfermedad, dejando tras de sí un rastro de luz, amor, sensibilidad y sensatez que permanecerá para siempre en quienes le conocimos. Su compromiso social y ecológico atravesó como una brisa fresca asociaciones populares, instituciones, sindicatos, empresas de inserción social... El recuerdo de su compañía no mitiga el dolor por su ausencia, pero refuerza nuestras esperanzas, y nos invita continuamente a transformar la energía que gastamos en criticar y enfadarnos en acciones y sentimientos positivos.

Asun García Mainar passed away on Jul. 16th, 2017, after a short but tough illness, leaving behind a trail of light, love, sensitivity and sensibility which will remain in those who met her for good. Her social and ecological commitment broke through grassroots communities, trade-unions, social enterprises... The memory of her companionship does not mollify the pain we feel for her absence, but it reinforces our hope, and it always invites us to turn the energy we waste in criticizing and getting angry into positive feelings and actions.

Il castello di Masino, a Caravino, fu per dieci secoli la residenza principale dei conti Valperga di Masino. Fino al Rinascimento venne difeso da alte mura e imponenti torri di guardia, poi abbattute per far posto a monumentali e splendidi giardini di fattezze romantiche e tipiche dell'Italia aristocratica. L'intero edificio è letteralmente ricoperto da affreschi, mobili di raffinatissima fattura e sede d'un museo di carrozze settecentesche davvero straordinario. Attualmente il castello è di proprietà del Fondo Ambiente Italiano ed è inserito nel circuito dei castelli del Canavese.

The castle of Masino, in Caravino, was the main residence of the Valperga di Masino counts for ten centuries. Until the Renaissance it was defended by high walls and imposing watchtowers, then demolished to make way for monumental and splendid gardens with romantic features and typical of aristocratic Italy. The entire building is literally covered with frescoes, highly refined furniture and home to a truly extraordinary eighteenth-century carriage museum. Currently the castle is owned by the Fondo Ambiente Italiano and is included in the Canavese castles circuit.

Like I said before... there is nothing "common" about a Common Loon.

When he flapped his wings after preening, I was lucky enough to catch this series of this extraordinary bird.

He was busy catching crabs and at times fighting with another bird in breeding plumage who repeatedly tried to drag him under and drive him across the water. Soon that relented and they began to tolerate each other. I think their hormones levels are high at this time.

I felt at peace as I lay down and watched these two birds go about their business. They couldn't care less about our presence as they swam closer and closer and directly to us. It was a magical moment as our faces met. Even in the moment I couldn't stop from saying "Wow". They cried out their wailing calls several times to each other. I never tire of that sound. I felt blessed to be in their presence.

Whenever life gets tough, getting out in nature and with the birds just lifts me back up again. This is especially true when I get to spend time in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my favourite person and one of my favourite birds, the Common Loon.

ENG: How do we want to live in the future? The Futurium motivates its guests to engage with different future perspectives and possibilities, and to do so in a playful way: various scenarios, an exhibition, a future lab and a forum for dialogue and discussion invite you to develop your own attitude.

The FUTURIUM building was opened on 5 September 2019 and is a kind of future museum and thus aims to answer open questions about the future. Admission is free and anyone can visit it not far from Berlin's main railway station. I personally can only recommend it. If only because the roof terrace (skywalk) offers a beautiful panoramic view over Berlin's city centre.

Das Futurium motiviert seine Gäste zur Auseinandersetzung mit verschiedenen Zukunftsperspektiven und Möglichkeiten, und das ganz spielerisch: Verschiedene Szenarien, eine Ausstellung, ein Zukunftslabor und ein Forum für Dialog und Diskussion laden dazu ein, eine eigene Haltung zu entwickeln.

Der FUTURIUM Bau wurde am 5. September 2019 eröffnet und ist eine Art Zukunfts-Museum und soll so offene Fragen der Zukunft beantworten. Der Eintritt ist Frei und darf von jedem unweit des Berliner Hauptbahnhofs besucht werden. Ich persönlich kann es nur empfehlen. Alleine schon deswegen, da die Dachterrasse (Skywalk) einen schönen Panorama Blick über Berlins Mitte bietet.

This egret gazed out into the lake, patiently awaiting its morning meal to surface - a familiar, everyday moment. Yet, with the autumn colors reflected in the water behind it, the scene became something truly remarkable
