Huntsmans quarry extracts Jurassic Limestone with the help of this breaker. No blasting is used as the resulting stone would be too broken-up.

This picture shows the blue-grey mudstone of the Fullers Earth Formation which overlays one of the Limestone units.

Puna a Pau, Rapa Nui, Easter Island, Chile.

Puna Pau is a small extinct volcano, located about 7 kilometers northeast of Hanga Roa, whose name refers to a source or well of water that should have existed in its surroundings. This crater is part of a set of parasitic cones that emerged during the eruptions of Ma’unga Terevaka, the youngest and highest volcano on Easter Island.

Inside the Puna Pau crater there is a quarry of red scoria that was once an important source of raw material for the islanders. The red scoria or hani hani, as it is known in the Rapanui language, is a type of volcanic ash of great porosity and scarce hardness, which shows a reddish color due to the iron oxide present in its composition.

Currently, the Puna Pau crater is just a depression in the land covered with vegetation. Only a few outcrops of scoria are visible on the southern slope, where a rock wall shows several stripes of reddish material.

The current form of the small volcano is the result of the intervention of the hand of man throughout history. According to the latest excavations, during the fourteenth and seventeenth centuries an intense work of extraction was developed in the Puna Pau quarry, whose main motive was the elaboration of the pukao or cylindrical headdresses that crowned some of the statues of Easter Island.

With the UFA forces stretched thinly across the southern African plateau a desperate counter attack was needed. Following the unforeseen success of these attacks Eurasian forces were pushed back. Many high ranking, Eurasian officials were caught off guard and quickly found themselves behind enemy lines. The commander and chief of Eurasian forces in Africa quickly authorised the the evacuation of these vital pinheads. Carrying out these operations were the Eurasian special task force. Air dropped behind enemy lines under the cover of darkness, these teams were tasked with extracting, or if the situation became dire the assassination, of these vital assets. Throughout the course of these operations the Eurasian special task forces saw unparalleled success with only a few units being captured. Once such operation, despite initial success in recovering the asset, quickly went downhill with intel-aided UFA forces quickly surrounding the remote high altitude flight port where the operation was being carried out.

We generally give Sock a puzzle toy every other day or so. He loves these toys because they're filled with treats and goodies so he really looks forward to them.

The thing is though, he's a one trick pony and his only way of solving the puzzle is to pick the toy up and then drop it.

It's usually fairly effective, but every once in a while a treat goes off trajectory and he loses it.

Well, last night he must have lost one of his snacks under the couch because he was fixated on trying to get under it (spoiler alert - he's too big). Scott took a look with the flashlight and couldn't see anything.

Sock disagreed.

So tonight, as the obsession continued, Scott decided to investigate and lifted the couch.

Sock was right and happily retrieved his much anticipated snack.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

The Wizard paces across the floor in front of a large vault door. His teammate, The Trapster, is trying to break the seal of the door. Whirlwind is on the ground enjoying a cup of coffee, wondering why he's here. Taskmaster is leaning back on the wall wondering the same. He knows he is better off on his own, but for some reason accepted the offer the Wizard gave him.

(Pshuw!)

Suddenly the sound of a teleporter fills the silence in the long hallway. The sound causes all of the "Fightful Four" to direct their attention to the source of the sound.

"Pardon the interruption. I'm looking for the bathroom."

"Piss off, mate!"

"That's exactly what I'm trying to do Paste Pot Pete."

"The name's Tra..."

"Quiet, fool!" The wizard exclaims. The Trapster directs his attention back the door.

"Why are you here, Deadpool?" Whirlwind chimes in.

"No one's listening. I'd just like to find the bathroom.

The Frightful Four make no effort in amusing Deadpool with an answer. Seconds pass and The Trapster finally cracks the code on the vault door.

"Got it!"

"Taskmaster and Whirlwind, go inside the vault room. Get the weapon ready for extraction. Trapster, go get the car."

The three follow the commands. The Wizard walks towards Deadpool and rips off the cheap wizard cap from Deadpool's head.

"Hey! Mickey gave me that!"

"Bugger off, Deadpool. You have no business being here."

"I actually do. You however, do not. I'm here to stop you and your partners from stealing that weapon."

"Why do you care? This weapon will allow me to rule this world. Defeat any hero that comes in my way."

"Y'see that's the problem. I like the way this world is. Sure a few changes here and there would be nice, but I don't want to see anything you'd think of as the ruler of the world."

"Then you'll have to stop me..."

"Gladly..."

Poured all day and I needed a tooth pulled. Feeling just a tad under the weather. 😄 Puddle in the road outside my home and a plant in the dentist office.

Though the day is glum and dark, I ventured anyway to the Hortus Botanicus just up the street where there's always something to see.

Here under a pewter sky is the Blue Bean Tree, Decaisnea fargesii. It hails from Asia, particularly western China and the Himalayas. The genus is named for the indefatigable taxonomist of Belgian extraction, Joseph Decaisne (1807-1882), who worked his entire botancial life in Paris. Our particular plant was discovered for western eyes by Père Paul Guillaume Farges (1844-1912), one of the famous French Missionary Botanists.

It seems the seeds are eaten by some indigenous peoples of the Himalayas but in the West this shrub is planted for decorative purposes. Indeed, the blue and the yellow leaves are striking, even in this dark weather.

Skeet Shooting | view on black

My shooting buddies and I went skeet shooting today. I packed my break action 12 gauge shotgun, a few boxes of ammo, shell pouch, ear and eye protection, then headed to the skeet and trap range early. Along with the rest of my shooting gear was the other shooting gear.

After two rounds of American skeet and two rounds of Wobble skeet (one round of consists of 25 clays), I decided to do the other kind of shooting and was fortunate enough to get a few good shots.

Skeet shooting is one of the major types of clay shooting discipline. A variant of skeet called International skeet was introduced in the Olympics in 1968.
