It's healing! Just noticed the other day that the hole had gotten shallower (when I fewer food bits could hide in there).
My apartment didn't get much natural sunlight, so exposures were around 1/10th of a second at maximum aperture. As a side effect, this created the nice motion blur. The motion blur then masked the depth of field blurring that would have been visible if I had held the ice cream still.

10:30pm: it’s been just over two hours now since we called the #ambulance to take my Mum to the #hospital at around 8:15pm. When we called she was in a lot of #pain from a #tooth #extraction she had earlier today. In all honesty she was in stronger shape after coming home from triple bypass surgery on Christmas Eve, December 2013. She’s been on #antibiotics for just over a week for an #infection, related to a chipped or fractured tooth the dentist found last week which might be worse than the dentist thought? Hopefully it’s not sepsis or anything like that.
10:45pm: okay, the ambulance finally came and they are checking her out now. She seems more stable now but is clearly #exhausted although while we waited for the ambulance to arrive we both took our blood pressure and hers was around 145/70, mine averaged around 175/120. Anyway it sounds like they are going to take her in for IV, pain meds and #observation overnight. Got her iPhone charged up and in her purse. And they’ve left. Apparently all the beds in the ER at Peace Arch Hospital are full, so not sure where she will be placed, and considering that it’s entirely possible she could be sent back in a few hours, so I need to make sure my iPhone is on. I actually hope they do #bloodwork on her too as it’s been awhile since that’s been done… End of August or early September when she had her day surgery. So if they do that she’ll be there overnight for sure.
11:15pm: when I let the dogs out and they scurried so fast down the hall looking for Mum. House feels really empty without her. I’m tempted to go back to my place but it would feel just as alone and I’d have to gather up the dogs. It’s raining so hard and I’d have to park on the street which might not even be possible with the roadworks happening on 32nd Avenue.
I’ve probably shared more about Mum here than I’ve ever shared before online. She’s definitely more private about these things. I always have my iPhone on silent so figuring out how to wake me will be fun. I checked the house line just now and it’s loud. I put it by the guest room bed. I feel so alone even though all 3 dogs are #cuddled up with me in the guest room bed.

Removal of the dreaded Ricoh Program pin from my new Kalimar lens and an old Vivitar telephoto zoom. Thanks to instructions from theatreofnoise.com and also my husband, for getting the screws out without stripping them.

One of the things I wanted to do in this shoot was set up some extractions for a photoshop class I'm taking. This one is just for fun. Elements by Lorie Davison. Not for commercial use, personal use only.
A Minnesota Air National Guard C-130 H3 drops a pallet during training on Feb. 28, 2011 at Yuma Proving Ground, Yuma, Ariz. During the week of Feb. 28th Airmen and the C-130 “Hercules” of the 133rd Airlift Wing deployed for training to Yuma Proving Ground where they practiced Low-Cost Low-Altitude airdrops. This knowledge and experience will be directly applied during deployments to locations like Afghanistan. The LCLA bundles are more accurate and use expendable parachutes weighing in at 80 to 500 pounds. LCLA is well suited for small units on patrol or in remote outposts where they don't have the equipment or manpower to deal with the larger container delivery system bundles. With an increase in shipment of sand, two transloading facilities have been established at Union Pacific's Winona, MN yard. This one was recently built on the yard's east end. Trucks pull up on the bridge seen here and dump onto a conveyor belt underneath that loads the waiting gondolas. The other loading site is located on the leads to the old C&NW locomotive shop on the west end of the yard. The gondolas were previously taken by a yard job to a location on the city's east end for loading via the UP's downtown industrial trackage.
The sand is used for hydrofracking, a process of extracting oil from underground rock formations.
