I drew the important external lamprey anatomy as well as some important facts located in the box.

Canon made this external battery pack to supply power to the A-series cameras when shooting in very cold conditions or with very long exposures. It uses two dummy batteries to actually connect tot he camera.

These smoke photos were shot with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18. An external flash (a Vivitar 283, seen on the left of the frame) was triggered via Wein Digital Peanut Slave using the popup flash (which was set to -2 EV).

As you can see, the flash was heavily snooted (using drain downspouts!) and flagged in order to prevent light hitting the black background and washing it out.

The cheese grater is there to break up the smoke and help it go into different patterns. I got this setup and the ideas used from this site:

External piping on #1309, a C&O 2-6-6-2 steam locomotive at the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum. It was the last steam locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works (1949).
