The Kurhaus of Scheveningen, The Hague in the Netherlands is a hotel which has been called the Grand Hotel Amrâth Kurhaus The Hague since October 2014. It is located in the main seaside resort area, near the beach.
History
The Kurhaus was built between 1884 and 1885 by the German architects Johann Friedrich Henkenhaf and Friedrich Ebert. It consisted originally of a concert hall and a hotelwith 120 rooms. Having suffered serious damage by fire, it was rebuilt between 1886 and 1887. The ceilings were painted by the Brussels artist Van Hoeck and his large workshop. Several kings and heads of state sojourned in the Kurhaus during its heyday.
Until the mid 1960s, the Kurhaus remained a public attraction as a major concert hall, at which many top artists performed. The Rolling Stones performed at the Kurhaus on August 8, 1964, and had to flee the building due to the vast numbers of excited fans outside.
Ike & Tina Turner performed at the Kurhaus on February 11, 1971. The show was aired on Dutch television.
A large number of celebrities have stayed at the hotel. The guestbook includes members of various royal families such as Crown Prince Harald of Norway, government leaders such as Winston Churchill and Mikhail Gorbachev and celebrities such as Joan Crawford, Audrey Hepburn and Bon Jovi. The first signature is from the then 13-year-old Queen Wilhelmina together with her mother Queen Regent Emma. The Hague author and dandy Louis Couperus was among the frequent visitors.
And in 2024 we stayed in the hotel as well.

I went out for a walk with my son
after being cooped up indoors working all day and this is what I ended up with. At first I thought it probably had to do with my psyche subliminally illustrating my thought process, but then I realized I'm really not that deep, just lazy, uninspired and pretentious.
The priory was founded in 1190 by William Marshal, created 1st Earl of Pembroke, intended for a community of the Augustinian Canons regular and was dedicated to Saint Mary the Virgin and Saint Michael.
To support the new house, William granted it the whole fief of the district of Cartmel. It was first colonised by a prior and twelve canons sent from Bradenstoke Priory in Wiltshire.

Several sites around the outside of El Hondo reserve provide good birding, some are also good for dragonflies later in the year.

Busqué a un prosticiutto para que posara para mi en una sesión que no salió como pretendía porque blablabla. Si alguien quiere contratarlo para algo que no sea posar, me mandáis un privado y os paso el contacto. Cocina, lava, arregla lámparas, fabrica muebles, come donuts, formatea ordenadores, critica a todo mundo, se sorbe muy bien los mocos aunque no sabe darle la vuelta a las tortillas de patatas. No me preguntéis porqué sé todo esto. Prometo que sólo le pagué para las fotos. 😏
