Playing around with extension tubes today, while cleaning my gear, not a fantastic macro shot but I like the abstract nature.
Any ideas? This shot was taken with my Canon 100mm 2.8, mounted on a full set (around 60mm) of no-brand extension tubes (with no electrical contacts). The flash (430ex, on bracket and diffused with coke can diffuser) was set manual at 1/8 power, and positioned above the lens, pointing towards the subject.
Aperture was manually set to f16 using the lens on the body, then DoF preview button, removing and mounting on the tubes.
The subject was on a windowsill, well lit.
The point: There's a big hotspot in the middle of the image. When looking through the viewfinder, vignetting is clearly visible. Can anyone advise as to the reason? Thanks in advance!
*the* perfect setting, and the best shot (of many, many attempts)
Tried out my new extension tubes on this one. Sigma 105mm +12mm extension tube. Dual off-camera flash (thanks Neil) with half blue gel.
THIS WAS ONE OF THE FIRST TAKEN WITH MY CANON 7D AND EXTENSION TUBES USED. THIS HIBISCUS WAS THE FIRST TO BE SOLD BY A FARMER WHO BECAME MY FRIEND. I GAVE HIM AN 8X10 PRINT.
trying out my new toy - kenko extension tubes on my 28-300 zoom to get better close-ups. the only flower left in the garden was this weed popping up from under next door's fence!
this was the best i could get without the extension tubes.
this is a manual 3-set extension tube. it won't work with electronically controlled aperture lenses. so you won't have an aperture reading in your camera and lens aperture is set to the smallest (highest f-number). might work though with lenses that has a manual aperture ring.
