Conon Creek at Cour Cheverny. A first picture of location in a magical place; afterwards you have a small stone waterfall, a stone bridge and two waterlily fields. This day, the light was not great and I preserved the atmosphere. A place to revisit for a new shot.

This is a new edition of one of my most viewed shots here on Flickr.

I added some texture and change the tones a bit - which were too much kind

of "blueish"...

Have a nice weekend!

Tim is my father in-law. He puts on an awesome show every 4th of July, or in this case, the 5th. It is a family affair with friends out on the family farm. The show can be seen from the main road and many cars pull over and park to watch, blowing their horns in place of the oooh's and aaah's. I am going to blow this shot up, frame it and give it to him.

Earthstars such as Geastrum velutinum, pictured here, grow in leaf litter on the forest floor. When they first appear they resemble a small egg, then their outer layer splits open and folds back into six to eight arms, like a star. The spherical spore-containing structure sits in the centre of the star and somewhat resembles a puffball. When raindrops hit, spores are released through a hole in its top.

Wastwater is 3 miles long, half a mile wide and 260 feet deep, the deepest of all the lakes in the Lake District.

Taal Volcano is a complex volcano on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. It is situated between the towns of Talisay and San Nicolas in Batangas. It consists of an island in Lake Taal, which is situated within a caldera formed by an earlier, very powerful eruption. It is located about 50 km (31 miles) from the capital, Manila. It is one of the active volcanoes in the Philippines, all part of the Pacific ring of fire.

The volcano has erupted violently several times, causing loss of life in the populated areas surrounding the lake, the current death toll standing at around 5,000 to 6,000. Because of its proximity to populated areas and eruptive history, the volcano has been designated a Decade Volcano worthy of close study to prevent future natural disasters. It was thought to be named as "a volcano inside a volcano" because many believed that the lake that circles the volcano was once a crater or mouth of a volcano. - Source: Wikipedia
