By the leading German Expressionist artist Alexei von Jawlensky (1864-1941). He was born in Russia but moved to Germany initially during childhood, settling permanently there during the 1890s. He became associated with Die Blaue Reiter (Blue Rider) group.

not too good this image, but i was in hurry in cologne and the weather was so so ...

 

called the bastei, built 1924, reconstruction 1958, both wilhelm riphan.

 

built on the top on an old basement of a tower from the prussia time. the best example of expressionism you can see in cologne.

This piece has been in the family since i was a kid, I'm not sure about the artist but love the etheral aspect of it

I'm painting like crazy these evenings to finish enough smaller paintings I'm happy with before showing at the beaner bar next month. The happy side effect of this is that I have really been moving this particular style forward.... excited to see where it will go.

Apparently, I've lost my ability to generate reflections. The last thing I need, right now, is to have to find myself, again.

 

The streaks visible on the glass are actually mineral deposits, one or two molecules thick, that are refracting light at specific wavelengths. It hasn't actually rained in this location in more than four months.
