Even though the increase of sunlight can be measured in only a few minutes a day in deep, dark January, I find myself at the south window each night as the sun goes down, marking its journey north through tree branches, power poles, and my own mnemonic meanderings towards that light.

When I started getting serious about photography several years ago, I had no idea that I would be so drawn to flowers. After taking several thousand floral photos, it's amazing how you feel an intimate attachment to nature as you shoot... and you never look at flowers the same again... you feel that you understand them. Am I crazy? I guess that's a debate for a later date. 😏😉

This exposure was made last month, and I didn't do much with it until my wife and I got an email about a retrospective at the Baltimore Museum of Art; see
[artbma.org/exhibition/joan-mitchell/catalogue].
I think it must have rubbed off on me and influenced the way I worked on this one. Once again, the subject is trees and sky reflected in the back pond, with breezes creating ripples. As is so often true, I focused on the forms and lines and colors. And, as always, I hope you like it.
Slighly manipulated. Same bridge as H147,
