Happy to have this photo (along with two others) in the exhibit - A Long Way Down (the grandeur, grit and humanity of the DC Metro), as part of the Focus on the Story international photo festival in Washington, DC! I have been photographing the metro often during my daily commute for many many years, and I love it ...

"Focus on the Story and metrobar present the opening of A Long Way Down, which explores both the architectural grandeur of the DC’s Metro subway system and the reality of a public transit network that is both loved and hated by its users and visitors. The DC Metro’s six lines move passengers through the heart of the nation’s capital and into both Virginia and Maryland. Completed in 1976, the DC Metro is the second busiest rapid transit system in the U.S. behind New York City. A Long Way Down presents the work of several DC-area photographers whose work document the grit, the weirdness, the grind and the humanity of life underground."

Panorama of Crescent Rock Overlook along Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. Fall colors begin to appear in the valley below. Photo is at mile 44.4 with an elevation of 3,550 feet.
Crescent Rock looks west over Buracker Hallow and the small settlement of Ida Valley Homesteads which was a resettlement area for mountaineers removed from the Shenandoahs when the park was established.
Panorama was taken with 6 vertical shots on a tripod. Used a circular polarizer to bring out colors in the leaves and sky.

This is less about the duck than the patterns of the duck's feathers echoed by the ripples of the stream. But in the end, maybe it's just another duck photo. : )
Made use of the equipment I had at the time. Cell phone LED light was used to get extra light. Was able to get a little closer this time but still very challenging (and cold).
WaPo Meteorologists identified this shape as a dendrite snowflake.

Memorial Bridge and Arlington in the fog at dusk... 10 minutes of surreal weather after a long, rainy day. Had to pull over on the commute home to watch the show! Wish I had my Nikon!
