Our Grevillea bush is full of these exquisite blossoms. The birds love the flowers and often drop in to feed. The first flower reminds me of the fireworks that I saw on New Year's Eve.
This is an old image of mine, made in July of 2003, well before my recent surge in digital activity.
From deep underground and a long way into the underground storm drain of great beauty called Aqua Cave we spin the fiery wool of mega sparkages around like a plane trying take off and we create an explosion of light
I am having a black and white mode in processing at the moment ... so before I return there ... here's some summer colour, taken in Giverny.
Je suis en mode noir et blanc pour le traitement actuellement ... avant que j'y retourne donc, voici de la couleur estivale prise à Giverny.
Narcissus was a hero in Greek mythology
Narcissus possibly derived from ??? (narke) meaning "sleep, numbness," in Greek mythology was a hunter from the territory of Thespiae in Boeotia who was renowned for his beauty.
He was exceptionally proud, in that he disdained those who loved him.
Nemesis saw this and attracted Narcissus to a pool where he saw his own reflection in the waters and fell in love with it, not realising it was merely an image.
Unable to leave the beauty of his reflection, Narcissus died ...
These here, with salmon trumpets, are a fragrant variety.
I (maybe wrongly) make a distinction (wrongly), based on that fact, between Daffodils and Narcissus...
Have a wonderful day, filled with love, M, (*_*)

Heading up the stairs to my office, I caught sight of this "explosion" through the window. Of course, it's just a happy alignment of a contrail with the sun, but I thought it looked so cool. Shot through a dirty window, which adds some texture to the whole thing :)

The Krafla volcanic area, which is 10 kilometres wide and 90 kilometres long, is one of the most active parts of the country, with at least other twenty eruptions since settlement. This is comparable to other notorious volcanoes like Hekla and Katla. Krafla sits on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and is what provides the popular Lake Mývatn Region with popular attractions such as its hot springs, lava fields, and other craters.

For Round 17 of 'Get Pushed', I was paired with Marie Sharp, whose beautiful photostream
is full of beautiful owls and macros of the lush nature surrounding her. Such a treat!
Marie gave me a one-word challenge - 'EXPLOSION!!!'
I absolutely loved this idea. So much in fact, that I returned the same one-word challenge
right back to her!
It's very interesting to see our different interpretations.
This was done with diet soda and mentos, and some very nervous girls who were expecting the explosion to be much higher and more dangerous than it actually was. A couple days later we managed to get the explosion much higher, but the settings were different so everything was blurry and I preferred this one because of the face paint and expressions of the girls.
Thanks Marie Sharp, I really enjoyed this one!
