A sunrise with a hint of fog. This is Fall, spider web and all.

One piece of advice while driving along this road; Slow Down!! All the best spots are the hardest to see if you're in a hurry.

Thanks to my buddy B rad for reminding me of this occasion. We mobbed down to Alki for some moon photography. This is a blended photo I made from two expsoures. I have a few single exposures and some where the moon is framed just perfectly between the buildings but to be honest this was my favorite. Something about the partial moon always gets me.

This tree has always reminded me of someone.

Rattlesnake Lake, Washington

I'm not the type to count my steps so I couldn't even tell you.

I don't know why I didn't post this earlier. Actually I've been sitting on so many images.... soon

This panorama was taken with my IPHONE 6S PLUS. I adjusted the lighting exposure by touching my screen and moving my finger downward to get the lighting I was looking for. I did no further editing after I uploaded the photo to Flicker. LENS: IPhone 6s Plus camera 4.15mm f/2.2

Another shot from my Highway 2 trip last month. The colors were poppin!

Sometimes you have to take off your shoes and just get in the water. But then again with waves like this you just need to get close. The water will get you!

I had thought about this shot for some time. Over the years I've lived here I've probably driven passed this scene over a 100 times. I was inspired to finally make it happen after seeing a local photographer slay this barn during a recent sunrise. I happened to be driving back this way after some errands when I noticed the sun was beginning to set. I found some random spot on the side of the road to park my car. The road was very busy so I waited for a clearing and rushed over to set up my comp for sunset colors. The telephone wires definitely made this comp a little tricky so I just made sure the top lines cleared the mountain. I made sure to snap some shots of the barns and house as well before taking off.

This took some work. I put a tin cookie lid up to my computer screen to create the line to make my circle even. lol yes really a tin cookie lid! I scaled the moon to 30% from a 300mm zoom shot. See my previous shot to see actual moon size in this scene. Composites are fun

Remembering my days up in the hood at snoqualmie. Skipping work was a lot easier then, except when everyone you saw on the mountain knew you were supposed to be working:-0

After the mess at Franklin falls we headed towards Gold Creek pond. There we were met with some wicked golden light and fog. But somehow this small neighborhood in Snoqualmie caught my eye through the snow covered trees.

Sidenote: I've been slacking on my Flickr browsing as of late. This year I will be changing that, I've just had a rough start... thanks for following along and I appreciate the kind words.

This is the last image I'm going to share from my Sunday Piroshky trip. If you haven't tried a salmon piroshky then I suggest making the trip. It would also be cool to take a photo of the gum wall looking clean!! I wonder who the first person to stick a new piece of gum on the cleaned wall will be??!!? ;-)

Castle, Pinnacle, and Plummer Peaks of the iconic Tatoosh Mountain range as seen from Paradise. One of my many proud Poppa moments was having lunch with my daughter atop Plummer (right most peak) while looking at Adams, Saint Helen's, and that other one, what's it's name, oh, Rainier...... :-)

Sometimes you just have a feeling and decide to change course. My dad calls it experience. I've always learned the hard way.

Just some art I made from my trip through Highway 2. I was experimenting with some long exposure layering. I hope you like it.

I stood in the rain for 15 minutes before I could get this shot without water on my lens. It gave me time to conversate with the man standing next to me. He mentioned that he was in town on business and photography is his hobby. After I asked where he was from he replied "Boston" and I quickly mocked the accent he was referring to. We had a laugh and then he asked me what my story was. I began to tell him about why I got into photography, that's when the rain had stopped. I replied "that's why!" I began to describe the feeling I get from what I call 'Nature's Rewards'.

I visited this location when I had first gotten into digital photography. It was great coming back with the things I've learned. I took a lot of pictures this day.

A couple Lenticular clouds moved in like spaceships. After about an hour they left and it was clear again.

Going over some stuff from 2016........

Somewhere along the way, Washington

The title has nothing to do with how fast the snail thought he was. But more so correlates with the focal length.

We arrived to the falls at about 9pm. There were campers scattered all over the grounds. But surprisingly no photographers! We hiked up the cliffs to checkout out where we would be setting up. The water fall was just gushing and a massive wall of misty, fog was blasting above the cliffs and all over our faces! We took a nap until about 130am and quickly hiked back to our spot. The mist was still coming up by then but we were determined to shoot the milky way. I would have to wait for the sky around us to clear until I got a decent shot. The mist just wouldn't stop. I'll admit once I got home and loaded the pics to view that I wasn't satisfied with any of my night shots. Too much fog blurring through the stars..... oh well, it was a great time with an awesome friend. We stayed up until sunrise and were treated to some great sun rays blasting through the mist! i can't wait to take trip back here at the end of the Month!

Palouse Falls, Washington

I've been on a puddle rampage lately. I hope it isn't boring you....

On my way out from the tracks I noticed this puddle and had my way with it. The mud was worth it.

I made a trip to the Palouse over the memorial weekend. I was lucky to be able to see the milky way only after a 2 hour lightning show over the falls!!! SCORE! I definitely need some more practice at these shots and can't wait to return.

Thursday night I needed some fresh trees so I picked up my buddy B Rad and made a trip up North. I've been craving a good sunset but have been skunked for almost a week now..haha. On our way back crossing I5 over Lake union I noticed a faint moon popping out from the fog like clouds over elliot bay. I quickly thought of where we could go to line the moon up with the needle. No fancy moon app helped here, I knew where I needed to be and this is the result.

Can we get another pedestrian bridge but with a conveyor belt so I can scroll through instagram and cross without running into anybody?

Met up with my buddy James at the park. He mentioned he moved close by and didn't have a car at the moment. I arrived just as the sun was reaching the horizon and James was already lost in the crowd. Luckily he saved me a spot with a good angle, so thanks to him. I also saw some local celebrities and other photographers I know. It was great shooting along side such talented shooters. And after all the moaning and whining I heard I actually liked the outcome of the night. Keeper for sure;-)

As for the photo, I did do some work to achieve this look. In total I used four exposures. One photo for the sunset, one for the city lights, one for the ferry on the water and the last one for the lucky 12 flag I got on one of my shots, score;-) Manually blending them in photoshop is getting quite easy these days, the algorithm seems self aware!! Haha. Thanks for looking:-)

Seattle, Washington

They had just locked the doors to the balcony. I took a few photos and made my way up. Usually most of the workers for the offices are out by 5 but it's been a busy week. I'm surprised they've gotten used to seeing my up there already, I for sure thought I looked homeless;-)

A sunset scramble brought me to this foot bridge view. I caught the train just in time for some motion in the frame. The sky was looking pretty neat so I stayed a while until it faded. I couldn't figure out what the bright spot is behind the mill, ghost flare!

When sunrise is so good you hit three different spots because you're greedy;-)

We started up in magnolia to catch the early burn. After seeing that Rainier was fully out we rushed over to Kerry park to collect a quick burn and say "Hi" to the other hopefuls. After the burn started to fade from the East, we decided to head East and shoot West looking towards the olympics.

Let's just say we bowled a turkey that day;-)

Seattle, WA

Hunting the milky way at Mt.Rainier this weekend. We weren't able to line it up like I had hope but we still got some wicked comps using the full milky way! I Def love this type of photography and hope to learn and do more with it.

Another crazy sky from my favorite view of the city. Practicing some long exposures on solid ground.

West Seattle beaches aren't too bad. During this time of the year they are pretty empty too.

A landscape photograph of the winter sunset over Lake Quinault, Washington.

Best viewed full screen in the dark with cold misty air in your face!!

Palouse Falls, Washington

It seems like every time I go to Tipsoo, I either get clear sky or completely cloudy sky. The flowers were in bloom so that really helped with the scene. When the sky is clear I try to cut as much of it out as I can. Sometimes that ruins the comp so luckily I had some morning light to color the mountain for eye candy.

Ok actually just the City of Seattle;-)

This is a pretty dope spot during the day, especially if you can catch the sun peaking from a building as the monorail zooms by. But at night is when the street really comes alive. A friend and I were doing some exploring and happen to be nearby. I said "just walk in like we own the place". The gate guards didn't even notice us on the way in. We got our shots and chatted with the guy already photographing the spot. Great minds think alike right? On our way out the gate guards locked eyes on us probably wondering what we were doing up there.... up to no good...

What a night! The sky over Rainier was just amazing. The colors were so vivid, they looked fake in person! there was a little haze, but my polarizer cleared that up! Low tide brings still waters.

Ideas come and go but this one had to be done. Waiting for the right moment and making sure your settings are prime make all the difference.

B and I were running and errand and decided to make time for sunset. We scoped out some dock and it ended up being this place called Log Boom park. Turns out the Cormorants hang here when the sun goes down. They aren't photographers and leave before the show but I stayed through the frigid air and captured this display of rainbow colors. I actually asked the people around if they were seeing it as well. I know the photo sucks buts try to imagine purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red accross the water in that order!! It was pretty sweet.

Sunrise, fog, cityscape, volcano. Good days come and go but photos last forever.

Do you have that spot you frequent not only to take photos but to just get away and think? This is my spot. The Des Moines Marina. The best part about this place is the weather. There have been times where I've looked around and saw nothing but rain clouds, but Des Moines would have a clear sunny sky! I also love keeping track of the tides and learning when and how to get them just right. Anyways, here's a blue hour after the storm. The wind had died down and the water was actually pretty still. I kept my polarizer on to get the detail out of the puget sounds floor.
