Just back from visiting family in Yorkshire. I always wake up early so I had a couple of hours walking around the Old Town.

This alley is actually called The Pathway, and was apparently a crime hotspot a couple of hundred years ago. There's a black door to my right out of shot that leads nowhere, a mysterious relic of a former building. Hull is full of interesting old stuff.

Not many people about early on a Sunday morning but I'm glad that one chap took a moment to stop and look my way. I tried raising the shadows in the edit to show the bricks in the foreground but much prefer this more dramatic look instead. In Explore May 9, 2023.

If you've never had a moose stick his tongue out at you, I'd highly recommend it! :) :)

Visual Stripes (www.flickr.com/photos/153083388@N08/) suggested that I try giving my mushroom images more 'breathing room'. Great idea for sure and I tried with this one but the environment makes it somewhat difficult.

Thanks for Explore! Also, I really want to thank all of you that have and are supporting my images with Faves and comments! ~ Thanks!, Gracias!, Merci!

There is no time to be bored....in a world as beautiful as this :)

But I AM a little lost lol

Niets leuker dan ook de kilometervreters van ons, stormchasers, eens te zien in hun natuurlijke habitat!

Thanks for the 154th photo of 500 today in Explore!

Johnston Canyon is an impressive natural chasm in the heart of Banff National Park, a beautiful gorge shaped by the rushing waters of Johnston Creek. Over many thousands of years, the river has carefully carved out intricate and dazzling shapes from the soft limestone rock, creating a stunning natural spectacle. With its overhanging, high walls, draped in lush vegetation, Johnston Canyon is a true delight.

Healing thoughts for Kristel and also for Gérard

It is thought that this ancient tree - an oak planted during the reign of Henry Vlll - inspired the legendary character Treebeard in JRR Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings. Tolkien lived nearby and would walk these woods sparking his imagination to write his stories.

Treebeard was a giant tree that could walk and talk in Tolkien's novel. Such a tree was considered an Ent, and there were other Ents in Lord Of The Rings too.

The tree is natural and has not been adapted which makes it even more amazing.
