Svartifoss 1 (2016-06-23 11:01)

Svartifoss is probably my favorite waterfall in Iceland so far. And on an island where it seems like there are more waterfalls than people, that's really saying something. Svartifoss (Black Falls) is a waterfall in Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland, and is one of the most popular sights in the park. It is a breathtaking waterfall, 12 meters high, with black columnar basalt formations which beautifully frame the waterfall and give it its name, Black Fall. Nikon D610/Nikkor 28-300mm. 2.5s f//8 ISO 100.

Peak District National Park in August. This was one of those moments where the reward came only after patience and quiet persistence. Reaching this viewpoint meant walking slowly as the light changed minute by minute, waiting for the sun to drop just enough to set the valley on fire. The heather in the foreground was alive with colour, the rocks anchoring the scene while the landscape unfolded endlessly below. The struggle was resisting the urge to rush the shot, trusting that the light would align, and it did. That calm golden glow was the payoff, a reminder that nature always works on its own schedule and rewards those willing to slow down and observe.

Rising from the ocean west of Vágar, Tindhólmur is one of the most distinctive islands in the Faroe Islands. Its five sharp peaks dominate the horizon and give the island an almost mythical appearance, as if it had been carved by giants and left behind in the middle of the sea.

Passing by on a boat tour, I was struck by the island's isolation. Surrounded by the restless waters of the North Atlantic and crowned by dramatic rock formations, Tindhólmur feels untouched by time. The steep cliffs, layered volcanic rock and ever-changing weather create a landscape that seems to belong to another world.

On this day, low clouds drifted across the sky while the ocean rolled beneath us, adding to the sense of wilderness and remoteness. It is easy to understand why the Faroe Islands leave such a lasting impression on those who visit them.

MADEIRA | THE KINGSWAY

The central mountain-range of Madeira, connecting the "Pico do Areeiro" and the "Pico Ruivo" can be hiked all atop, following the PR1 hiking-trail, known as the "Kingsway".

The scenery you get delivered behind every corner is really worth the good 6-7 hours, the trail is going up and down and through narrow tunnels and exposed ridges.

A herd of Waterbucks in this nice light is in itself great, but come on... everything gets even better with elephants in the background! ;)

Interesting output from apple’s night mode. Photo taken near a campfire, which illuminated the trees, and the night sky was still able to peek through.

The good news: our tour timing lined up perfectly to catch light beams streaming into Antelope Canyon. The bad news: it’s a very different experience than it was nearly 20 years ago—constant groups moving through one after another, making it nearly impossible to capture a clean shot to the canyon floor without crowds. But it’s still an incredible place to visit, and sometimes you just have to adapt with the times.
