Framed by the ancient stone walls of Ananuri Castle, this captivating shot captures the tranquility of the Zhinvali Reservoir along the Georgian Military Road. Taken from a vantage point atop the fortress, the image looks out toward the serene blue waters, flanked by lush green hills and forested slopes. A solitary boat leaves a gentle wake on the glassy surface, adding a dynamic touch to the stillness. Nestled below, rooftops peek through the foliage, completing this scenic view of nature and history in harmonious coexistence.
In the heart of Tbilisi’s Liberty Square, time seems to slow. Pigeons perch gracefully upon an ornate fountain, their stillness contrasting with the quiet murmur of life unfolding nearby. Golden lion heads and intricate carvings tell stories of grandeur, while lush greenery frames the scene like a living canvas. On a bench, two souls share a tranquil moment, embodying the harmony between history and everyday life. This square, once the stage of revolutions and celebrations, now whispers serenity. Here, the essence of Georgia reveals itself—resilient, graceful, and forever flowing like water from its timeless fountains.

▶ Quite the plucky fellow. If he had noticed the dog and me, he showed little concern. The dog, on the other hand, was quite aware of him.

In my pursuit of fall color, I had seen that some friends visited the Old Mill at Berry College in recent days and that there appeared to be some good fall color.
While on lunch, I swung by the Old Mill since I work on campus. Driving down the dirt/gravel road leading to the Old Mill, I could tell that the leaves appeared to be at peak color. I was cautiously optimistic as the color hasn't been that great in years past. Usually a few trees here or there had color, or peak color would last a day or 2 at the most, or the leaves would have very little color and just fall, but I couldn't remember the last time most of the trees were at peak color at the same time.
The Old Mill is one of the most popular places on campus and probably the most photographed. Everyone has certain angles so I always try and find a different perspective. For this shot, I couldn't help but notice all of the orange and yellow leaves that had fallen, likely due to our recent rains, and had yet to turn brown. After surveying the area, I found a few rocks marking the edge of a parking area and placed my camera and lens on one of them. I fired off a few shots while adjusting my settings as I couldn't get on the ground to look through the viewfinder and go back to work covered in mud. After a few attempts, I finally came away with a shot that I was happy with.
The color won't be around for long, so be sure to stop by if you're in the area.

Andalusia Farm, located in Milledgeville, Georgia, was the home of renowned Southern Gothic author Flannery O’Connor from 1951 until her death in 1964. Originally a cotton plantation established in 1814, the property was purchased by O’Connor’s uncle, Dr. Bernard Cline, in 1931. Following her diagnosis of lupus in 1951, O’Connor moved to Andalusia to live under the care of her mother, Regina Cline O’Connor. The farm became the setting for much of her literary work, including 24 short stories and two novels, as its environment deeply influenced her writing themes of religion, race, and Southern culture[1][3][6].
Today, Andalusia Farm is preserved as a house museum and part of Georgia College’s campus. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2022 and features an interpretive center showcasing artifacts from O’Connor’s life and the farm’s history. Visitors can explore the farmhouse, which includes O’Connor’s bedroom with her writing desk and typewriter, as well as other modest furnishings that reflect her life during her productive years[1][3][4].
The farm hosts tours and events celebrating O’Connor’s legacy, including special activities for her 100th birthday in March 2025. These events feature free tours, live music, art inspired by her works, and screenings of films based on her life and literature[1].

Don't underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering. ~ Pooh's Little Instruction Book
It's been a crazy stressful week both professionally and personally. I'm looking forward to things slowing down in June! Hope to catch up with everyone and everything soon!
A little Sunset on Tybee Island, the last of the Trump Presidency on the 19th of January 2020. Regardless of ideologies, divisiveness and our beliefs, I know the Sun will rise again tomorrow just to set again day after day...
I got inspired by sunrise images on @jhgraphx Instagram profile. I decided to go scout the area myself for sunsets. Who knows, I may get up early and discover a Sunrise on Tybee for myself...

Currently in Northern Georgia working towards my senior exhibition. This was a piece I created yesterday that I know won't quite fit into the show, so I'm sharing it now!
(See links). This was on the trail to Hemlock Falls at Cloudland Canyon.
Cloudland Canyon State Park is in northwest Georgia, on the western edge of Lookout Mountain. Boulder-strewn Sitton Gulch Creek cuts a deep gorge into the mountain. Sitton's Gulch Trail runs parallel to the creek. The short, steep Waterfalls Trail, with stairs down into the canyon, leads to Cherokee Falls and Hemlock Falls, where water cascades down into pools. Nearby, Sitton’s Cave has mineral formations.
Located on the western edge of Lookout Mountain, Cloudland Canyon is one of the largest and most scenic parks in the state. Home to thousand-foot deep canyons, sandstone cliffs, wild caves, waterfalls, cascading creeks, dense woodland and abundant wildlife, the park offers ample outdoor recreation opportunities.
Hiking and mountain biking trails abound. The most popular hiking paths include the short Overlook Trail, strenuous Waterfalls Trail and moderate West Rim Loop Trail. Mountain biking is available at the newly developed Five Points Recreation Area and along the Cloudland Connector Trail. The park also includes an 18-hole disc golf course, wild caves available for touring during select months of the year, a fishing pond, trails for horseback riding, picnicking grounds and numerous interpretive programs, especially on weekends.
Guests seeking an overnight experience can choose from fully-equipped and comfortable cottages, quirky yurts or several different types of camping and backpacking options. Come enjoy the great outdoors at Cloudland Canyon State Park.
