As the sun began to set, I looked upstream from the waves for a few minutes. No surprise that occupants are being warned of flooding. My favourite part is the Surfer [middle right] who was weighing up how to ride these unusual waves, out of view of the Coastguard, who were there in force! It's always a lovely surprise to feature in Explore - thank you all for your visits, kind comments and favourites, all are very much appreciated!
My son turned 25 yesterday. What a fantastic day. A few hours poolside relaxing and a nice dinner party with friends and family, food, drinks, cake and gifts galore.
Summer is a great time for taking photos not only because of wonderful sunsets and sunrises, fresh grass and forests. I also like thunderstorms, the power of it. And of course the wonderful smell of ozone that promises heavy rain very soon.
The picture that I took occasionally while returning from a small picnic on a river bank.

I'm seeing pictures of Orange Tips but have only seen a couple, on the warmest North Yorkshire days. Won't be long though.

A quick meeting outside Toronto's Queen Street subway station resulted in this street portrait of Pops. Some skepticism resulted from my introducing myself and my request to photograph him. I think my sharing my name did something to tip the balance. He consented and I took just this one photo. He seemed satisfied when I showed him the result, but his initial skepticism still shows in the portrait.

Meols /ˈmɛlz/ is a village on the northern coast of the Wirral Peninsula, England. It is contiguous with the larger town of Hoylake, situated immediately to the west. Historically in Cheshire
All around the globe people are celebrating the advent of a new year with fireworks. But well... man made stuff simply cannot compete with nature. So here you see fireworks on a whole different level: one of the wildest Aurora nights I ever had the pleasure to witness. Happy New Year everybody!!!
