Lucky enough to experience Canadian Thanksgiving alongside our beautiful Canadian friends from Toronto, we are invited to travel north in the vast province of Ontario to a place called "Georgian Bay", from where we took several little trips around the Lake District area.

Spending a week in September with Québec First Nation Tribes, we have learned a great deal about the cultural practices and ways of living of the Cree, Wendat, Ilnu and other nations that have lived here before European settles arrived. A very interesting journey I'll soon share more on my blog about! Follow #QCAboriginal in order to learn more :)
My journey through Western Canada continues as I head out further east, leaving the Rocky Mountains behind in exchange for the "vast open Prairies" of lower Saskatchewan. It is here where the VIA Rail train stops again, in the town of Saskatoon (the province's largest town) and I am enjoying a two day break in a city that has truly and deeply surprised me in many ways.

"Go to Tofino ..." I came here because somebody whispered its name. Like a (very) positive conspiracy. And YES, this part of Vancouver Island is attractive indeed: Staying at Lone Cone Hostel & Campground, you are able to dig into a fascinating First Nation story too. Come for surfing, camping and / or a lifestyle choice for staying and spending a while. What a great place !!

For the second time on this trans-Canada journey of mine, I have returned to beautiful Banff & the Rocky Mountains, recognising its spirit of international minds, heart-warming locals and magical natural surroundings. You cannot help but notice when you've truly, madly, deeply fallen in love ... and Banff has that spirit. > www.creativelena.com/en/travel-blog/north-america/canada

During fall 2016, I have taken up the challenge of realising a 10-week travel spread across Canada, starting in Vancouver and finishing in Québec / Montréal. My journey has taken me past soaring peaks, incredible waters & beautiful cultural traditions left by Canada's First Nation People & more. Follow me as I continue exploring: www.creativelena.com!
