The large, spiralled horns of a Bighorn Sheep Ram (Ovis canadensis) are very distinctive. This ram's horn exhibits damage from repeated clashes. Copyright © Kim Toews/All Rights Reserved.

The National Bison Range Wildlife Refuge is a great place to visit. Wildlife, especially Bison, are readily seen on most days. Other wildlife, particularly deer and antelope, are also common.

With Noranda-bound tonnage in tow, Ontario Northland's gorgeous heritage unit rounds the bend at Boston Creek in the pouring rain. The chase is on.

Rather than do their own fishing, Bald Eagles often go after other creatures’ catches. A Bald Eagle will harass a hunting Osprey until the smaller raptor drops its prey in midair, where the eagle swoops it up. A Bald Eagle may even snatch a fish directly out of an Osprey’s talons. Fishing mammals (even people sometimes) can also lose prey to Bald Eagle piracy.

Swans have long been associated with ideals of romance. Added to their elegant outlines and all-white plumage is their tendency to form permanent pair bonds by the time they’re 2-3 years old. Once a pair forms, Tundra Swans feed and roost together year-round.

Friday night's amazing sunset reflects off Harmon Lake. My new little buddy 'Bubba' wonders what all the clicking was about. Captured in the beautiful Thompson-Nicola N region (south of Merritt), British Columbia, Canada ~ July 7, 2017 🌲

HEAVENLY

Ellershouse Community Centre, formerly Saint Louis Church.

A large berg from spring 2019. This being a relatively green winter thus far, I am looking forward to seeing a few more of these float by in the spring. Taken near Twillingate, NL

Big Horned Sheep Ram arrives in the foothills of the mountains for fresh grass. Soon he will be challenging his mates for breeding rights in the Fall (and will be in higher elevations of the mountains). As many times as I have seen these Rams I always enjoy their presence. Have a safe and happy summer season!

Vancouver, every day I love her just a little bit more, a little bit more, a little bit more. Our streets are bursting with the colours of Autumn right now and it's damn beautiful ❤ Looking north under this canopy of red, you can see Dundarave in West Vancouver way off in the distance. Captured yesterday afternoon in the gorgeous #Kitsilano neighbourhood of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada ~ October 20, 2017 🚘

Lesser Scaup spend the winter farther south than any other diving duck in their genus (Aythya)—some go as far south as Central America and the Caribbean.

Scientists believe that communication is the main reason that whales breach. 🐋 The slam of the whale’s body landing against the water can be heard for enormous distances. Studies have shown that Humpback Whales are more likely to breach when other whales are over 4 km (2.5 mi) away. It’s also believed that breaching could be to remove barnacles or whale lice. On a visit to Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula in November I was determined to photograph this shipwreck.

I arrived in Harbour Grace about 2 hours before sunset and once I found my location I set up two cameras. This one was taken with the Nikon Z5 and the AF-S 300mm f4 D.

I light mist moved into the area just at sunset and while it looked good on some photos I decided to swap the sky in this one to add some drama. It is not something I typically do but I'm trying to challenge myself and improve my skills in that area.

If things go well in the months ahead, the SS Kyle will see me once again in the not too distant future.

Blue hour along the Seawall in Stanley Park. A bicyclist passes Siwash Rock with headlights on. In the distance you can see Ambleside Beach, the sports field illuminating the trees, and houses in the hills of West Vancouver. Shot from Third Beach in Stanley Park, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada ~ May 1, 2016 💙
