This was the reward up Bukden Pike. It is not for the faint hearted and you will need to climb, abseil and walk along cliff edges. If you have any fear of heights then please do not attempt this one. I have seen many people look at the climb and return or give up. As it is a Fell, it will get cold up these altitudes. Also, remember that when it is cold, filters and camera equipment can get stuck and very tight to unscrew filters etc. However, it was worth it.
Buckden waterfalls, are a series of small and 3 massive waterfalls up Buckden Pike. But you notice the grandeur of it all when you walk up. You can park at the NT car park and make your way. When you get to the first large waterfall, you will notice that you have no choice but to climb about 15ft up the side of the cliff to get to the next part of the path. Then when you achieved this and get to the second massive waterfall you will find that you have meander up the path and then you have to climb more up the cracks on the fell. From here you will notice cliff edges and the altitude. You will see it’s crumbling and very unstable in some weather conditions. Attempt this next part if you still feel brave but the reward is this beautiful-fall waterfall.
