A.k.a. Poor Man's HSS. This little project was more fun that I thought it would be, as long as I kept the water away from the photo gear. This was by far the most successful "hss" like result.

Another from this brilliant sunrise at Circular Quay. Wish I'd thought to put my ND on here, as it would have been nice to smooth out the water a bit.

So... I always rack my mind on how to make a firework shot original. I think I figured it out, Explosions!! This shot was all luck, I was chimpin when I saw the back of the camera.
Point at heads make click go bang then head go boom.

During the political meeting "Folkemødet 2015" the ferry company "Bornholmerfærgen" hosted a large firework display.
The relative size of the clouds in the DRC is difficult to describe. There were times it seemed they would overtake the horizon itself.
This particular afternoon two massive cumulus clouds moved rapidly across the landscape and as they did, light seemed to explode out of them at different angles.
It was absolutely breathtaking. No photo of mine could possibly do justice...

Wow - Aurora Explodes: I knew we were in for some lights, but this was way better than expected, minus the large crowd at the lake.
We stopped along the coast where there were waves colliding from three different directions sending some amazing plumes of water into the air. Large is best.

Another shot from this morning.. I was sitting there waiting for the waves to come.. nice to enjoy the morning and the joy of a wave here and there whilst I fished around for a good bit of foreground interest.

Just a closer version of the same scene. This time I used a 28-135mm lens. The last shot was a 10-22mm, thus the different perspective.
The scene is the Fore River Power Station on the Fore River in Quincy, Massachusetts.

Touching the ripe seedpods of Impatiens glandulifera plants makes them explode. It's fun, kind of like popping bubblewrap blisters but requiring less effort.
This slow-motion video was shot at 240 frames per second.
🇬🇧 The subtle clouds and branches of these trees lined up perfectly and were crying out for a photograph. Using a super wide angle always helps to accentuate these lines.
