Sign explaining the origin of Tumuli Lava Blisters.

"Tumuli are odd-looking lava domes pushed up by the pressure of liquid lava beneath a thin crust. These features are rare, and the local examples are the best in Australia. There is one in the valley just over the ridge behind you (1km along the gravel road), but the best cluster is on Old Crusher Road (8km). Both sites are on private land, but you can see the tumuli from the road. Further west along Old Crusher road you will discover examples of stony rises and pressure ridges."

Sakun (right) takes a long time to understand things, so Lokas (left) is breaking things down to explain why he does what he does.

Lokas is a hired sword. He is an expert swordsman and is willing to take on any request so long as the money is adequate and so long as the task doesn't go against his morals.

In the past he would be willing to take on jobs that involved 'dealing with' particular people that the client wanted gone. But ever since a particular incident that left him with regret, he takes on more bodyguard jobs. He says he would consider going back to the type of work he used to do however, if he needed to.

You may be familiar with "Groaking" if you have pets. It is where someone (or pet) stirs at you so much while eating that you end up giving them your dinner. Kasa has perfected the art of Groaking especially with K.

“Yes, I was the brilliance floating over the snow

and I was the song in the summer leaves, but this was

only the first trick I had hold of among my other mythologies,

for I also knew obedience: bring sticks to the nest,

food to the young, kisses to my bride"...

This is a marvellous museum explaining the foundation of Leon by the Roman's and their consequent history here.In the grounds of the museum are ruins of the barracks of the Legions which were the origins of the city.

The ancient Roman walls of Leon had four entrances, one for each of the four cardinal compass points and they provided access to the four principal streets of the town.

The Arch of the Prison or Castle Gate is one of these entrances and the only one which survived after the Bishop's gate, which was located between the Cathedral and the Bishop's Palace, was demolished in 1910. The present arch was reconstructed in the 18th century but conserves part of the original medieval structure as can be seen from various inscriptions. Nowadays it serves to connect the Plaza de Espolon and the Plaza de Puerta del Castillo.

The name Prison Arch was adopted from the castle alongside, which in its day served as the city prison. It is said that this building was built on the Roman wall in the middle ages taking advantage of the fortifications tha t ajready existed.

in 1649 the Duke of Hijar was imprisoned accused of consonpiracy against Felipe IV and he died there after 15 years of imprisonment. Over the years it was used intermittently as a place of reclusion until 1976 when it assumed the function of storing the Historic Archives of the City of Leon. A function it continues to carry out to this day.

They have started studio lessons at MASH. This photograph of Tom Bold was sneaked as he explained something. Think it may have been, "Give me a fiver or or I will hit you with my camera".

The light under the umbrella looks bright but it is just the modelling light. High ISO, shooting in raw, overexposing in camera by one and a third stops and then adjusting the white balance in Lightroom, makes it look like daylight. I will consider spot metering if I do it again.

I explained to Aimee that I really didn't know what I was doing, and I just asked her to try and pose for me. She did more than that -- she glowed!
