"Experiment:#:001A":Exposure Adjusted Digital Capture Of A Painting Shone On TV. Caught Between Frames... + Sp-Efx... :Copyright:2017:Joel.A.Fairchild...Have Camera,Will Travel... Abstract/Surreal Images For Hire...
On this experiment, I used ink and PVA glue to explore a different concept upon drawing and shades. The ink breaks down creating interesting and unpredictable shapes.
This is a photo taken during a video I saw in 2018 at MOMA showing the work of Bogdan Bogdanovic (1922–2010), a Yugoslav architect who made very sculptural monuments to the war dead. This is a detail from the visit of one called the "Stone Flower" and is found in Croatia.
When I took the photo during the film which was in b&w, the composite colors (panchromatic BW film?) came through and I found this transformation interesting.
For some time, I've set my sights on capturing more complex exposures involving hard/contrasting light conditions - mostly because I'm too lazy to get out for the sweeter early morning light. It also requires a learning curve on my part with Photoshop as Lightroom has been my go to app for several years. Looking at some of the images on Flickr by photographers whose work I admire like, Gavin Hardcastle, flic.kr/ps/NBGMP has inspired me to experiment with blending exposures.
The mid afternoon light in this scene was terrible with the sun over/behind the falls and a grey patchy sky being blown about by gusty winds. I shot two exposures - one for the sky and one for the darker cliff walls. Consequently, the final image was an experiment to see how the two would blend together. Next is focus stacking.
tiddy a feral cat i have fed for years that lives at the end of my garden. tiddy has shelter, a bench and food. she knows she's safe
panasonic lumix tz70
this morning i experimented with my new camera on the scene setting but also used the focus lever. it's a lovely camera to hold and the weight all ok ... but practise, practise, practise
i had been waiting for a panasonic lumix tz90 but there is a global shortage of point and shoot cameras petapixel.com/2021/10/15/the-camera-industry-is-trapped-d... i was on various waiting lists but no stockist had any idea when it would be available. a panasonic lumix tz70 was in stock last week www.lcegroup.co.uk/New-Equipment-Home/ i bought it rather than have a possible prolonged frustrating wait for the tz90
for many years my garden was a shrubbery flic.kr/p/Lhv9ag which i loved. a picket fence covered in an ivy hedge coming down in a storm meant that over time changes had to happen flic.kr/p/2mn2x8a i'll be glad when the trellis is covered in honeysuckle and jasmine. that's the plan ...
www.flickr.com/groups/gardening_is_my_hobby/ helpful for ideas. thank you for sharing
Experimenting at the weekend
I borrowed some close-up lenses from a friend but hadn't have the chance yet to test them. So last Sunday I grabbed my camera and stuff and went for a little walk. Unfortunately it was to windy for any kind of macros and nothing turned out the way I wanted it to be. Was fun anyway... And I kind of like the way this jumping jacks flowers look like. More testing is required!
Been getting quite a few new figs/fig parts over the past few weeks, and while experimenting with them I came up with these.
Count Vertigo: Head and torso combo goes to Killer Moth, but was then stolen by Allo :P Anyway, I just wanted to try the Apoc Hal torso on him.
Mr. Bloom: Man, I love how he turned out! :) The new Demogorgon head piece works really well.
Calendar Man: Got this head after seeing Moose use it awhile back.
Like I said, more DC stuff is in the works/already made, and will be uploaded within a few days time. And yea, I know I said I was gonna upload all the pics with the old background first :P But I’ll just re-take em with this background or something.
As always, your thoughts are greatly appreciated :)
Experimenting with soap films is fascinating.
Thanks to "Jane in Colour" I learned how to take macro images of them.
Thank you for your wonderful idea, dear Jane!
Orchids! I have three different plants so I can try different amounts of light, etc. We'll see what works best. If anything.
Plenty of time to think about what to do with them next winter,
Experimenting a fusion with my self-portrait and a photo of the Bilbao Guggenheim museum I made just few weeks ago
I was experimenting not only with the lensball but also with the Lightroom camera that is available on the iPhone. If you are in the Lightroom app, you can actually take a RAW photo in DNG format. It even did an HDR, DNG file.

I decided to try lighting the Joshua Tree on the left with my headlamp as sunset light faded. It seemed to work. The tree on the right is lightened with Photoshop.
Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!
Explored.
Not the most compelling image, but I was messing around with Lightroom CC on my iPhone XS yesterday and took this is HDR. I was able to clone out his dog tag, adjust lighting and lighten the shadows a bit all on the phone. Nice sharp results I think
Experimenting with reflections in bubbles today. I am supposed to be getting glycerin to make my bubbles last longer which hopefully will help improve my images. I really liked the rainbow colors and the flag together. The process is very cumbersome and taxing, blow a bubble, and hope it doesn't pop, try to focus, hold the flag, start over again and again. It's a nice way to stay busy and keep the crazy world out of my head for a while. What is occupying your mind and taking your attention?
I started to fold the "Face_pattern" with elephant hide, just for an experiment to see how it would look like with this paper. To my surprise it didn't stay flat, but started to curl and in the middle a bowl arose (photo left).
I stopped folding and only made a few, already existing, creases stronger on the back (right photo), so it would maintain it's new shape even more.
This series of images began when I was captivated by some of the "Illustrative" techniques used by Richard Gregory. Richard kindly gave me some tips and here are some experimental images based on the Bruges Canal shot which I posted yesterday. Thanks, Richard. None of them look like yours but I did get one quite close for a while. Then I became interested in getting an engraving type effect, mono and tinted. These are the three results. Thanks again, RichardGregory48.
