Con el objetivo de impulsar la comercialización de productos derivados del cacao como chocolates, coberturas, licores y snacks saludables, el Ministerio de la Producción (PRODUCE) realizó la Rueda de Negocios Nacional en el marco del XVI Salón del Cacao y Chocolate 2025.
“Desde PRODUCE apostamos por seguir conectando a nuestras mipyme con grandes compradores y cadenas de valor nacionales. La rueda de negocios es una muestra clara de cómo la articulación comercial puede traducirse en oportunidades concretas para quienes transforman el cacao peruano con calidad, identidad y visión de futuro”, destacó el ministro de la Producción, Sergio González.
Este espacio reunió a más de 80 micro, pequeñas y medianas empresas (Mipyme) y cooperativas de 16 regiones del país, que tuvieron la oportunidad de generar vínculos comerciales con 18 compradores del sector HORECA (hoteles, restaurantes y catering), retail, tiendas saludables y agroexportación. La expectativa de negociación ascendió a S/ 12.2 millones, reafirmando el compromiso del sector con la promoción y fortalecimiento de la cadena de valor del cacao peruano.
Las empresas participantes provinieron de regiones con gran potencial productivo, como Amazonas, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huánuco, Ica, Junín, Lima, Loreto, Madre de Dios, Pasco, Piura, Puno, San Martín y Ucayali. Este encuentro permitió establecer relaciones comerciales estratégicas que fortalecieron su presencia en mercados más amplios.
Entre los compradores confirmados figuraron empresas como Ecoandino, Nutribody, Flora y Fauna, Cacao Life, Perú Origins, Amazon Andes Export SAC, CENCOSUD, Supermercados Peruanos, Nuna Orgánica, Madre Orgánica y Gatti. Asimismo, participaron reconocidas marcas del rubro hotelero y gastronómico como el Hotel Hilton, Aramburú Matriz, Acurio Restaurantes y María Almenara.
La rueda de negocios fue una herramienta comercial que facilitó el contacto directo entre ofertantes y compradores, generando relaciones comerciales estratégicas y potenciando el posicionamiento de los productos de la región en mercados más competitivos.
El evento formó parte del Salón del Cacao y Chocolate 2025, que bajo el lema “¡Cacao, herencia del Perú para el mundo!”, se desarrolló del 17 al 20 de julio con más de 200 expositores nacionales e internacionales, foros, concursos y actividades orientadas a posicionar al Perú como un referente mundial del cacao de alta calidad.
La ceremonia de inauguración también contó con la participación del viceministro de Mype e Industria, César Quispe, la directora general de Desarrollo Empresarial de Produce, Antonella Romero, el presidente de la Asociación Peruana de Productores de Cacao (APPCACAO), Anaximandro Rojas Gil, entre otras autoridades.
El Ministerio de la Producción ratificó así su compromiso con el fortalecimiento de la competitividad de las MIPYME, generando espacios de articulación comercial y promoviendo un ecosistema empresarial más dinámico e inclusivo.

Those of you who knew me as I was growing up probably never expected my attachment to farms. Especially my preference of farms over nice, clean history inside museums or books. However, I was quite excited and happy when I discovered the Museum of the Rockies includes an 1890s living history farm. Somehow, I had overlooked that when I was looking up the museum! The garden is all heirloom varieties and they looked like they were doing quite well. Neatly organized, with a straw path down the middle for visitors to walk on. The rows were labeled with a stake, which was helpful for the interested visitor, but not obstructing the view of the plants. I found out later that historic tools are used for working on the garden and the plants are watered a bit with metal watering cans during the day, but sprinklers are turned the plants at night. [There is a water pump behind the house and children are encouraged to try it, but the sign says, “Please Do Not Waste Water: Pump Into a Watering Can and Water the Plants Around the Tinsley House.”]
Inside the farmhouse, there are hourly tours, or visitors can wander at will. This led to the inside of the house being a little chaotic. The house is staffed with one paid costumed interpreter and probably 5 or 6 costumed volunteers. I talked with several and they were quite knowledgeable about the house and gardens.
Behind the house, there is a blacksmith shop (with a sod-covered roof). There is also a chicken coop. Makes me miss the New Hampshire Farm Museum.
Yesterday was pretty crazy, I was expecting to go to the Circa show but it was supposedly at capacity. I ended up going cosmic bowling with some friends and then to McDonald's to overeat. We ended up going into Portsmouth anyway to see if we could go to the signing the band was having, turned out I could stay for the 8:30 set which was amazing, Circa was awesome. Check out their new album Blue Sky Noise, it's a real change, good change.

I really wasn’t expecting all the entertainment, i booked our tickets to see the racing so got a bit of a shock when i later learnt the Robbie Williams would be performing. Robbie’s great so i wasn’t complaining but when we first go to the track and found out there was more than one stage, many different acts on and a whole host of other things to entertain the crowds i was a little let down. As with other motor racing events I was expecting crowds of people that all shared a common interest, many had gone just to see the performances. It was more like a festival with a few cars racing.
For the Robbie fans, i was unable to get any photos as it poured with rain pretty much the same second he put foot on the stage. He was terrific! A true show man and the soggy soaking crowd loved it. We got some video footage on our phones so hopefully i can put in a like for anyone interested
What to expect? We had no idea when we booked our trip to Myanmar. But, what we were met by was a country full of warmth, incredible people, easy transit, and endless beauty.

This will be a wall hanging. It's being upcycled. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of it before it was painted white but it was something I had in a box from the early 90's. Had a saying on it that was cute but can't remember what it said now. I thought it was time for an upgraded quote and one of my favorites!
