Unexpected: my daughter came back from her school trip to the new Transport Museum with little presents for everyon in the family...I got this new car! Always nice when you get an unexpected present from someone you love....the cars going to work with me and can sit on my desk t remind me.
Expected: the god awfully bad customer service experience continues. Repeated calls today have managed to force some sort of progress from the incompetent company....they finally managed to get the boiler part delivered to them today but it seems it will take another two days for an engineer to come out and fit it. If this happens as promised (which I doubt) that will be a grand total of nine days without heating and hot water. It also seems that today they finally realised that we should be a priority as we had a complete loss of heating and hot water.....this depite the fact they have been told as much every single day since last Wednesday by us!
PS: I beleive that once this company have finally manged to get our boiler fixed that they have plans to expand their business into organising a p*ss up in brewery....I have my doubts that they will be succesful though...

Sydney Opera House sits on Bennelong Point. Bennelong Point was named after Woollarawarre Bennelong, a senior Eora man at the time of the arrival of British colonisers in Australia in 1788.
The original cost estimate to build Sydney Opera House was $7 million. The final cost was $102 million and it was largely paid for by a State Lottery.
233 designs were submitted for the Opera House international design competition held in 1956. Jørn Utzon from Denmark was announced the winner, receiving ₤5000 for his design.
Construction was expected to take four years. It took 14 years. Work commenced in 1959 and involved 10,000 construction workers.
Sydney Opera House was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2007
There are more than 1 million roof tiles covering approximately 1.62 hectares sitting over the structure. They were made in Sweden.
Seven A380s could sit wing-to-wing on the site.
Sydney Opera House was opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 20th October, 1973. She has since visited four times, most recently in 2006.

Natural disasters are expected to increase in both number and severity as a result of climate change. Many places lack the resources and institutional capacity for disaster prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery. As a result, climate-related natural disasters can act as a threat multiplier, undermining the stability of nations and regions and exacerbating insecurity. Recognizing this, the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Agency for International Development, and their partners are working to strengthen U.S. responses to climate change through increased collaboration and coordination.
Join us for a discussion of whole-of-government interventions to reduce climate change vulnerability. Where are there opportunities to increase collaboration across U.S. agencies? What role can disaster risk management play in building stability? What are the barriers to strengthening disaster risk management? How can U.S. agencies work better with one another and with international partners?

Not sure what to expected from the bulls in Round 2… PBR livestock director Cody Lambert made this comment about the bulls the riders faced in night 2 of the PBR… “I didn’t ride ‘em all, but back when I rode I felt like I could ride ‘em all.”
This was the rank pen of bulls, riders will be facing the bulls that are hard to ride, and if you survive the ride, a score of ninety points or better could be expected. Cody Lambert had this to say “I know a lot of guys are going to get a no score, they’re going to get drilled.”
The 2008 Australian Bull Riding Champion and contender for Daisy Rookie of the Year won the round. Pete Farley from Kempsey, Australia, was matched up with Bones who is the current PBR World Champion Bull. Pete won Round 2 with Bones with a score of 93.25 points. Until tonight Bones had only been ridden once in thirty trips out of the chute…
