Winter silhouette at Silverdale beach, looking south across Morecambe Bay, with the tide ebbing and Heysham in the distance. Just in Lancashire, on the Cumbria border, it's designated an AONB (now, National Landscape) and an SSSI.

Morecambe Bay is a large estuary in northwest England, just to the south of the Lake District National Park. It is the largest expanse of intertidal mudflats and sand in the UK, covering 310 square kilometres. It's also an important wildlife site, with abundant birdlife and varied marine habitats.

The extensive sandflats are the remains of a vast outwash plain established by glacial meltwaters as the last ice age waned 11,000 years ago.

The nave of the basilica was excavated in the rock and is at a lower level to enhance the presbytery and break the monotony of such a long space. It is divided into four sections, marked by series of large transverse arches, crossed in the vault to form coffered ceilings.

The dimensions of the current temple are greater than those of the original perforation, which was 11 by 11 meters. Now it has a width of 18 meters. The technical difficulties of expanding the tunnel were very great due to the granitic structure of the cliff, with joints that could cause landslides, to the point that the decision was made to solidify the existing tunnel with the debris from the expansion of the floor and sides. and once this is finished and consolidated, proceed to complete emptying. In August 1954, the interior lining was made, with large concreted transverse arches, as well as the sides and the floor, which contributes to the stability of the whole and to the support of the mass of stone that gravitates over the vault.

The walls of the chapels house the remains of thousands of combatants from both sides of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939).

This photograph taken inside the Wisconsin Central’s diesel shop at North Fond du Lac shows two recent arrivals getting a mechanical check-over before being added to their then rapidly expanding fleet of SD45s.

The WC had already purchased 21 of these big EMDs from the Santa Fe in 1993, but due to increasing traffic levels they found it necessary to add more power in late 1994 into early 1995.

The ATSF 5327 would become the WC 6599 and the ATSF 5400 the WC 6629. – The additional road units that came to the WC from the ATSF this time around included 33 SD45s, 6 F45s and the one FP45. - September 6th, 1994 ~~ A Jeff Hampton Photograph ©

True belonging is not passive. It's not the belonging that comes with just joining a group. It's not fitting in or pretending or selling out because it's safer. It's a practice that requires us to be vulnerable, get uncomfortable, and learn how to be present with people without sacrificing who we are.

Dr. Brené Brown

Belongingness entails an unwavering commitment to not simply tolerating and respecting difference, but to ensuring that all people are welcome and feel that they belong.

John A. Powell

Today, if we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.

Mother Theresa, Saint Teresa of Calcutta

The most important thing in all human relationships is conversation, but people don't talk anymore, they don't sit down to talk and listen. They go to the cinema, watch television, listen to the radio, read books, update their status on the internet, but they almost never talk. If we want to change the world, we have to go back to a time when warriors would gather around a fire and tell stories

Paulo Coelho

We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say, ‘It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.’ Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.

Fred Rogers

Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

Winston Churchill

When we choose to wonder about people we don’t know, when we imagine their lives and listen for their stories, we begin to expand the circle of those we see as part of us.

Valarie Kaur

We must remain hopeful that a universal ethic of courage, caring, sharing, respect, radical compassion, and love will make a difference. We can never be too generous or too kind.

Marc Bekoff

I believe that we are here for each other, not against each other. Everything comes from an understanding that you are a gift in my life — whoever you are, whatever our differences.

John Denver

This year I bought two different Clematis plants with a view to eventually obscuring a plain wooden fence my neighbour put up. One of the clematis has already flowered. This one (Taiga), despite being planted earlier, has taken longer to become established and has only just produced its first flower. I'm so pleased.

Barred Owl

The Barred Owl (Strix varia), also known as the Northern Barred Owl, Striped Owl or, more informally, Hoot Owl, is a North American large species of owl. A member of the true owl family, Strigidae, they belong to the genus Strix, which is also the origin of the family's name under Linnaean taxonomy. Barred owls are largely native to eastern North America but have expanded their range to the west coast of North America where they are considered invasive. Mature forests are their preferred habitat, but they can also acclimate to various gradients of open woodlands. Their diet consists mainly of small mammals, but this species is an opportunistic predator and is known to prey upon other small vertebrates such as birds, reptiles, and amphibians, as well as a variety of invertebrates.

Yes ok so I Iost the plot a long time ago but what happened here is that I spent my morning in my upstairs room retrieving old photos from a very old laptop before stripping it down completely . Mr. Bean's teddy was laying around since I photo'd it the other day, and lovely husband picked it up and propped it up against the laptop screen which has an old photo of Caswell Bay as a background. It made me laugh so much that I almost fell off my perching stool.

ALBERTO GARCÍA-ALIX. AUTORRETRATO

EXPOSICIONES

ALBERTO GARCÍA-ALIX."AUTORRETRATO"

Before you stands the great western divide. This ridge of peaks divides the kaweah river drainage in from of you from the kern River drainage on the other side. The great western divide rises high enough to block the view of Mount Whitney, tallest of the Sierran peaks at 14,494 feet.

In 1890, Sequoia National Park included the Giant Forest but not the peaks you see in the distance. Over time, ideas of what should be preserved in a national park changed. in 1926, this view became park scenery when Congress enlarged the boundary to the crest of Sierra Nevada.
