The deciding factor in my purchase was the name Exoto gave to the paint-job: Galactic Peacock...
The 935 was a funky design--awkwardly muscular, but all the more endearing for it. Exoto captured that tough weirdness superbly.
This comes from the Racing Legends collection. Standox to be exact. The Standox models are racing cars sans liveries. There are even standox versions of Exoto's Group C monsters. I suppose the designers wanted something more challenging than single colors.
And the results are incredible color-shifting paint-jobs. Sure the Standox cars lack the dramatic livery and the stories that those can tell, but the details are just as intricate and just as vivid. The lines of the car--its spirit--live on, strong enough to invoke the joy of racing, just in a different way.
Onto the photo!
Low angle: Check.
Over dramatic sunset: Yup.
Overdone post processing: Surprisingly, no!
Don't worry, I'll make up for that soon :)

It's time to post more from an earlier shoot. We'll be revisiting the Sauber Mercedes C9 by Exoto and its partner tonight, the Mazda 787b by AUTOart.
Both are in 1/18th scale. Both come in stealthy black. And both are beautiful. When I hold AUTOart's 787b, I can feel AUTTOart aspiring to Exoto's standard and very nearly reaching it.
Still, the most beautiful thing here is the sunset...
