These days Coffee is my best friend and when someone hands you that life line when you are knackered, it is nice to just relax.
🎼: One More Cup of Coffee ~ Bob Dylan~
✈️ : Lost Lagoon
Your breath is sweet
Your eyes are like two jewels in the sky
Your back is straight, your hair is smooth
On the pillow where you lie
But I don't sense affection
No gratitude or love
Your loyalty is not to me
But to the stars above
One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee 'fore I go
To the valley below
Your daddy, he's an outlaw
And a wanderer by trade
He'll teach you how to pick and choose
And how to throw the blade
He oversees his kingdom
So no stranger does intrude
His voice, it trembles as he calls out
For another plate of food
One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee 'fore I go
To the valley below

"The distractions, the exhaustions, the savage noises, the demands of town life, are, for me, mortal enemies to thought, to sleep, and to study; its extremes of squalor and of splendor do not stimulate, but sadden me; certain phases of its society I profoundly value, but would sacrifice them to the heaven of country quiet, if I had to choose between."

A hilltop in the middle of a large city in the early evening. To the left, near one of the trees, if you squint you can see the image of a statue. Pioneer Mother is “A memorial to mothers who made the arduous trip west to seek better lives for their families, the 13-foot bronze statue depicts a woman perched sidesaddle on a mount, holding an infant, her expression reflecting grim determination and exhaustion. She is flanked by two men with rifles and a weary pack horse.” Can you guess where this statue is located? Maybe somewhere near a famous trail leading settlers to the west?
it's been a hell-week irl - a few minutes of serenity on the beach was all I've been able to manage.
Swift found crash-landed in the garden yesterday - I assumed heat exhaustion but later saw another swift being chased by a hobby so who knows. Drip-fed water from a syringe and watched over it for just over an hour when it was able to relaunch itself. We have them nesting in our attic so it may just have got too hot up there.
After getting back late from my drive out around the Harrogate area, a combination of exhaustion and a dead laptop thwarted my addition of this last night (am I cheating?).

Hello everyone! I had good intentions of sharing this image the 1st day of spring; however, my life has been turned upside down lately.
About a week and a half ago, I was at work and I got a call telling me that my husband Gary was injured badly while at work. He had fallen off a 10 ft ladder and had hit his head and back. Thankfully his head is okay, but his back did not fair out as well. He broke 4 vertebrae (bursting one of them) and he required surgery to repair and stabilize his spine. The surgeon did a spinal decompression and fusion from his T10 vertebrae down to his L3. He did have numbness of his legs (likely caused by the shattered bone fragments touching his spinal cord) but the decompression corrected that.
This accident has certainly been a wake up call. Life is so fragile and not to be taken for granted. His situation could have been so much worse, and I am very thankful it wasn't, even though this has been hard on both of us. I have been stressed and exhausted. While my stress is subsiding, the exhaustion will be there for awhile as more of my time will be taken up to getting things done. My teenage son has been doing alot of the "Dad" jobs at the farm while I have been taking on more at home and once the weather gets warmer I will be busier outside. The outpouring of love and support from our friends and family have been wonderful. We are truly blessed to have such an amazing support system. Gary is home now and is slowly getting better. It will be a long journey for him as he will be off work for several weeks, maybe months, and that will be very hard for him as he is a very active person who can't sit still. We have come to the conclusion that our farming will need to take a sideline this year and we will rent out the land. Those things are not as important as the recovery will be and he knows he needs to focus on that and get his strength back so he get back to what he was like before the accident and doing the activities that he likes doing.
I may not be as active on Flickr but I will be around here and there. Photography is an outlet for me. This image was taken a few weeks ago when I was working on a previous photo challenge. We aren't getting much Spring weather today (more cold temperatures and snow squalls) but we will get there...
I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe and healthy! I look forward to visiting your streams and seeing what you've been sharing. :)

Be still, and let the anchor of the moment sink deep. Beyond the reach of the restless spray, there is a silence that heals. In the shadow of the pines, we trade the exhaustion of the pursuit for the grace of being found. Here, in the safe harbor of the soul, we are finally, quietly, enough.
since there is less cleaning up to do afterward :-)

I can empathise with the apparent exhaustion here, fatigue is one of my Long Covid symptoms and it now takes me a few days to recover from a street shoot. Delayed onset post-exertional malaise is common and can occur 12-72 hours after activity. For me it's an all encompassing tiredness. A complete lack of strength and energy. Falling asleep after just 2 hours in the day while drinking coffee, completely unable to keep my eyes open. I'm one of the luck ones, most with PEM are more drastically affected and can't even get out of bed.
I hope that your week is going well my Flickr friends. Take care and take photos.

I know maybe it seems crazy but I left my shoes at the entrance of the museum ... surprised glances from some visitors ... .
At one point of the exhibition I saw this film art demonstration on the wall. After a few hours barefoot in the museum it was time for this shot.
Just me, my feet b/w series
.. In exhaustion. Having crossed The Sneck, I am making way up to Cnap a'Chleirich, where the path goes straight up the mountainside, so I pause to cach my breath a little. Looking back the route I have been following is clearly visible, with the summit plateau, and the rocky tor marking the summit of Ben Avon.
Climbing Ben Avon (pronounced Ben A'an) which stands at 1171 meters (3842 feet), and Beinn a'Bhuird (pronounced Ben a-voashed) standing at 1197 meters (3927 feet), sees me covering a distance of just over 24 miles. They are my 2nd & 3rd Munro's of the season, and bring me to a total of 26 now.

As I went to the garden to add some kitchen refuse to my compost heap, I spotted this Wall Lizard lying in this strange pose in the Laurel hedge. As I came close to check on it, it opened its eyes and ran away. I was quite relieved, as I thought that today's very high temperature (it reached 36 degrees C, quite unusual in Quiberon) had done this lizard some harm.
Common Murre, South Holland
A small crowd had gathered to watch this Common Murre struggling in the surf on the coast in South Holland. The bird finally flopped onto the beach and then struggled up the sand a little bit before collapsing. A bird watcher grabbed the bird and put it in a large bag, and then called the "Animal Ambulance". Remarkably, a fully-equipped Animal Ambulance painted green appeared about 20 minutes later! I was told that for some reason these birds are not getting enough food and are collapsing from exhaustion and being rescued and fed in this way ...
Clearly, South Holland is a good place to be if you are an exhausted Common Murre.

The African wild dog (Lycaon pictus), also known as African hunting dog, African painted dog, painted hunting dog, or painted wolf, is a canid native to Sub-Saharan Africa. It is the largest of its family in Africa, and the only extant member of the genus Lycaon, which is distinguished from Canis by its fewer toes and its dentition, which is highly specialised for a hypercarnivorous diet.
It is classified as endangered by the IUCN, as it has disappeared from much of its original range. The current population has been estimated at roughly 39 subpopulations containing 6,600 adults, only 1,400 of which are fully grown. The decline of these populations is ongoing, due to habitat fragmentation, human persecution, and disease outbreaks.
The African wild dog is a highly social animal, living in packs with separate dominance hierarchies for males and females. Uniquely among social carnivores, it is the females rather than the males that scatter from the natal pack once sexually mature, and the young are allowed to feed first on carcasses.
The species is a specialized diurnal hunter of antelopes, which it catches by chasing them to exhaustion. Like other canids, it regurgitates food for its young, but this action is also extended to adults, to the point of being the bedrock of African wild dog social life. It has few natural predators, though lions are a major source of mortality, and spotted hyenas are frequent kleptoparasites. Wikipedia
Dear Flickr friends, it is a tough time for us all. And a very low point for me. Sorry not to be here to enjoy your work and company. The palette of my soul is dark and opaque; my body is always on the verge of exhaustion, and my mind is flickring like the flame of a candle at the slightest breeze. My feeling of being inadequate is constant and painful. So I ask you to accept this post as it is: not a promise, not a triumph, not much at all... only something done while trying not to sink. A sunrise session at my favourite spot, at the meanders of the river Adda, unsuccessful as it has been. A beautiful autumnal palette wasted by an ashen sunrise. Well, ashen is the palette of my soul, so maybe I deserved it...
Not much to say, maybe already too much, actually. Better stop here. Better for you, at least. Just saying "hi, I am still alive".
Hope that you can enjoy the thumb-up points of this photo, if you are able to neglect its weak points. And congrats, since you might be on the "half-full glass" side - arguably better than the "half-empty" side.
Hope to come back in the next future with a more positive outlook. You would notice, I believe, from my comments to your works.
Please, be safe and healthy...
