TRIM STEEL EXPERT is a completely integrated CATIA V5 solution to automate the design of trimming tools used in the sheet metal and plastics die trimming industry. The solution creates the stock material (casting) and the tool surfaces as separate elements to fully support the engineering and manufacturing process. It furthermore will take into account the specific parameters as known in the tool engineering industry. TRIM STEEL EXPERT was developed in close cooperation with iCapp.

Another example of thinking of activities first, technologies second.

This caught me by surprise when I came across it while on a quest to locate examples of street art. One thing that I did notice was that some drivers appeared to be somewhat confused by the layout … I say that because there were two minor crashes while I was photographing the area.

The Apple Market in Waterford has been the main location for trading since the early 18th century. Recently the area has been transformed into a contemporary urban quarter following a multi-million euro investment.

A specially constructed steel and glass canopy costing €1.2m was constructed as part of a €6m

urban renewal project undertaken by the local council of the area.

The structure is billed as being the only one of its kind in the country. The triangular steel and glazed canopy is held up by nine steel columns, positioned to facilitate certain traffic in the area.

A special reflective material developed by Medite in Co Tipperary is used on half of the 1,400 square-metre canopy, which is over nine metres above the street at its highest, creating a 'mirrored ceiling' effect.

I am trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. When shooting in RAW with my MkII, I have my camera set to neutral and my LCD brightness set to auto. The bottom image represents what I am seeing when I look at the screen, and the top image is what I actually get when I get home and open the RAW files. Frustration for me is that I frequently have sessions where I think, "Wow...these are going to be great SOOC" only to get home and discover that I have a lot of tweaking work to do.

Any tips are greatly appreciated.

I had a friend here several months ago shooting alongside me with her 5D, and we kept comparing images and she kept remarking, "How are you doing that??? Why are your images looking SO much better than mine and our settings are the same?!" ( We were both shooting "L" glass) When we got back home and opened her files and mine on the computer, they were virtually indistinguishable from one another. This doesn't happen every time. There are still those sessions where for whatever reason, my images come out of the camera, looking just the way they looked to me on the lcd screen. I am jsut very puzzled by what operator error I am employing to have such mixed results.

The above image was evaluative metering, ISO 100, 1/1250th sec, f 2.2 This was NOT shot with "L" glass though. This was my 50mm f 1.4. Oh and this was AV mode. I rarely shoot in AV, but had it set there as my daughter had just been using the camera and I forgot to switch back to manual. It looks a bit underexposed as I had reset everything back to no EV

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Just found out the builder is Kelly Hart, and he is a member of Flickr. How about posting some more pics of your wonderful creation, Kelly?

Example from a nice old Russian lens; the Jupiter 37A, an f/3.5 135mm fixed lens. It fits on my Pentax *ist DSLR with an adapter. I think this lens makes digital photos that look a bit like the results from slide film.

(von Restorff Effect) The bags of Victoria's Secret are bright, striped, and pink as well as a unique size, making them stand out compared to any other store bag. If someone has bought something from that store, you can immediately tell by the bag, even from far away. (This picture is not mine.)
