Castilleja nana, dwarf alpine Indian paintbrush, is a perennial with distinctive sharp-pointed bracts that are tinged light purple and covered with coarse hairs, a combination that renders the plant nearly inconspicuous when growing among talus of granodiorite. This site is in the Evolution Basin near the shore of Wanda Lake.
