I am always knocking my lights down when in tight trails and I needed something to protect them. Yes I could have gone to those small LED light bars but I like the look of my 7 inch rounds. So me and the crew at Custom Off Road Equipment came up and made this the other day. Now my lights are protected from limbs and such. The downside is now I will be installing 9 inch lights in place of my 7's as they will fit the hole better. With a Jeep one is never done.

I run doors in the winter and rainy spring and I am getting ready to add some door bars to my roll cage. I noticed that they would have hit on my lower part of the door panels so I cut them and trimmed up the edges with some door edge guard. Nice and clean and even got some added storage inside the door as well. Repainted them a sexy flat black for easy cleaning and touch ups!

There is something special about wild flowers, with Primroses way up there towards the top of my A list. These ones were kind enough to establish themselves in my garden; uninvited, but very welcome guests! Given that in the Ireland of bygone days Primroses were traditionally considered a powerful source of protection of the home against evil influences, I was obviously delighted to see this happen!

I took this on May Day which is appropriate because in former times the practice in many parts of Ireland (and parts of Scotland too) was, on that day, to place Primroses, or May Flowers, at the entrance to houses to ward off evil spirits for the year ahead.

I'm not sure how it works on Flickr but hopefully no evil spirits, or anything else nasty for that matter, will trouble anyone who sees this. Copy it if you wish, or share it with friends, to be sure to be sure!

Christmas ancient traditions in Romania - A Wonderful Christmas to All My Friends!

Christmas & New Year's eve ancient traditions in Romania- traditional procession with masks

In Romania, Christmas (popularly known as 'Craciun' in Romanian) falls on December 25 and is generally considered one of the most important religious holiday.

Christmas in Romania is unique.

Ancient times customs are piously kept at the countryside. There are more then 2000 year-old customs from the Dacian ancestors mixed or overlapped with Christian's traditions. And it isn't only the Christmas Day. It's a long row of holidays about. Each one with its own meaning, customs, stories and superstitions.

In this photo an image of ancient pagan customs with masks practiced in the villages of some regions of Romania. It is practiced on Christmas & new year's eve for centuries, and it is said that it drives away the evil spirits

I didn't blur out the number to protect the so-called "Doctor" - I blurred it out to protect the people viewing this image. (and for those people that know about reverse pixelisation - I used the clone tool to transpose numbers before pixelising. I guess that's overkill (if someone's clever enough to know how to do that, then they'd certainly know that calling this person would be a bad idea).

Naztharune Rakshasas are the rogues and assassins of their race, resembling panthers more than tigers. They have their own agendas, and thankfully look DIFFERENT from the other breeds of Rakshasa. And they are playable.

This is my jack plate mounted on my rear tire carrier. I made a bracket so that it attaches with those knobs. Useful to put under the jack when in loose sand or mud and helps distribute the weight better for more support.

After ten years of faithful use on my old jack, it was time to retire her and get me a new one. Upgraded from the standard Hi-Lift to the Hi-Lift X-treme.

The Lynchburg Museum in Lynchburg, Virginia is located in the old 1855 courthouse structure. This is one of the original gargoyles, intended to be a lion, similar to those on the Parthenon; but as the descriptive tag in the museum states, it looks more like a pig. Gargoyles were frequently used as waterspouts from gutters; and they may also have been used to ward off "evil spirits". It is a Greek Revival touch on the building.

I use my cowl to stand on when loading and unloading my rack. To prevent me slipping again and adding more butt divots to my hood, I cut and place this grip tape that is used by skateboarders. Works really good so far!

The Cadejo is a spirit character in the folklore of Central American countries. There is good (white) and evil (black) cadejos. Both appear to travelers at night, the good to protect them and the evil to kill them.

Ever since seeing the movie "Ray" with Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles in 2004, I've wanted a Bottle Tree. One is featured in the beginning of the movie when Ray is going blind.

Bottle Trees are based upon an ancient belief that evil spirits are trapped inside the bottles and prevented from harming the occupants of the dwelling nearby (thank you for the history, Mr. Felding Rushing). They are common in the South and when the sunlight hits the bottles it is really beautiful. There are different versions of the trees, with some bottles hanging (like mine & Ray's) and some upside down on branches or posts.

Details of four of the twenty talismans for the conjuration of celestial and infernal powers. The descriptions include what colour the talisman should be, on which finger the ring should be worn, and which magic words must be uttered in order to harness their powers; including invisibility, compelling an individual to divulge their secrets, and to "destroy everything."
