Excited about the return of Heroes tonight. Heather and I were both quite latecomers to Heroes, having only recently caught up on DVD - so this is the first series we've watched from fresh, and thankfully it's the first one we get to see in the UK concurrent with its US airings! Huzzah!
A very quick shoot in the garden this evening - one of those occasions when I get the shot I want within 2 or 3 attempts. A few tweaks in Lightroom, and bish bash bosh - job's a good un.
Lighting: 580EXII (1/4 power) on tripod to camera left pointing at face, 430EX (1/4 power) on ground to camera right providing illumination on one side of the reaching hand. ND2Grad filter on the sky. Fired with eBay wireless radio triggers.
So I just a few weeks ago I rewatched this film on Netflix, I remember how amazing and funny it was, I really love that part with the "Forget Me Stick". So of course because of all of that I had to make him, his body was pretty easy and fun to design. his shoulderpads are close enough to the ones he has, I didn't add spikes on him because my markers wouldn't work at the time, part of his cape was copied from the Shark Army General's because when I tried painting on the actual cape it wouldn't stay, and the top of his head is sculpted, originally I was planning on making something similar to Egghead's headpiece, but Megamind's head is in a particular shape, and I think I matched it pretty well. Also his gun looks pretty good, but I wanted the gold studs to be flat, I couldn't find any that I had at the time, and of course he also has a dehydrated cube, I also plan on making Minion soon.
This is where minions will come to relax and replenish.
Other furnerature will be a ping pong table, both a soda and snack machine, a wide-screen television, an arcade game and a pinball machine, and a water cooler.
*I'm honestly not sure if the egg chair will work like this: All of those pieces are held in by friction, but it should be enough. As this is a computer rendering, it's impossible to know if the friction would be enough until it's actually built in real bricks!
The floor needs to scoot over toward the baseboards by just less than one stud, so more on this room later!
One of my last bottles of a favorite stout made by Evil Genius Brewery. They had to shut down because of the pandemic. And the glass is just kind of iconic with gold writing.

All I really did was edit his legs, because I really like him and I didn't like how he just has plain legs.
The segment to the right is more visually accurate to the game, and 2x2 tiles may be better for chroming than 1x2 bricks, plates, and tiles on the left.
The left segment, however, is slightly more sound construction in general, as well as not having to rely on gravity to hold the tippy-top 1x6 gray tile.
I'm curious what your experiences may have to say about good ol' gravity glue, if it is in a MOC that won't see anything more than moderate play?

Welcome to the redux basic security door! And before you wonder, unfortunately the "Heavy Security Door" is still in early WIP development.
You might have noticed some peculiarities with this MOC, and proceeded to exclaim, "what the heck!" I totally understand, so let me explain: the 'decals' of white stripes and dots on the doors are illegal placeholders for decals for a real-life-build. As for the colors which don't actually exist--well--too bad! You are looking at the photostream of an *evil* genius, after all.
*Assuming those door stripes and dots were decals: both left and right doors slide open and into a wall cavity of my other MOCs in the "Evil Genius" series.

Here's a reconstruction of the barracks wall-segment, included with a floor and a lovely sliding door! The first version (way back in the "Evil Genius" album) was too tall, and worse--it didn't leave for a big enough of a cavity for a door to slide into. Fixed!! (:
That shelving is one heckuva pitcher with a killer curveball: the upper row of shelves is merely "pinched in" by the other bricks, and it still isn't clear if it will work in inside/outside corners. The foundation and dirt are for dramatic effect. It's pretty dramatic.
So guys, help! What shall we name our new recruit? If he's going to be one of our minions, we must give him a new name to boost his loyalty to our cause!

Sorry for the grainy picture of a screen, but this is what I've got. I'm looking to slightly outline the gray rectangular shape.
On the left, the thin black lines adjacent to the gray are 2×2 hinge plates, which are 1/4 of a plate in thickness. 2 of these plus two tiles are the same thickness as a stud (2+[1/2] plates = 1 stud). I really love the NPU for detail.
On the right, I use the bottom groove of tiles, jumpers, and cheese slopes to create a subtle outline. This technique was inspired by the amazing Blake Foster.

Oooh was this fun!!! A lot of the basic frameworks you guys have seen me using should hopefully all work great! It's amazing how much this project is actually starting to feel like "Evil Genius!"
Oh and I'm definitely going to need to be painting some pieces if I want a deep desert-night sky colored floor like they have in the game.
Those "doorways" or beams which cross the entry foyer were really just slapped together, and will eventually get some more attention.
