Walk around Venice or ride around Venice and you will see that ii is a city for artists. Art work is on the facades of some of the ancient palaces. Statues stand on the piers to welcome gondolas and the whole city seems like a fairy tale.
In the heart of Windsor, Ontario is Jackson Park, which was created in 1929. The centre piece of the park is the Queen Elizabeth II Sunken Garden, in honour of the reigning monarch of not just the United Kingdom, but also Canada and several other countries, including Australia and New Zealand. The garden, by mid summer, is a splendour of colour everywhere, even more enhanced by the dawn sky on the morning I visited.

When walking in our neighborhood, I always see lovely flower specimens that I'd love to collect for my macro photography exploration. My basic rule is that the flower must have fallen off the host plant (thus insuring my neighbors don't dislike my presence). This lovely flower had fallen to the ground under our neighbor's tree...thus is was officially mine! Inside the soft folds of the petals, I found this intricate center.

Walking through my neighborhood, it is easy for some people to assume they've seen everything worth seeing. Not so, my fine friends. While wandering through a playground, I discovered climbing structures covered by small drops of rain. Voila!
Huge volumes of water in the form of rain fell as we reached Glencoe. And over the top at Rannoch it was a flooded wasteland with so many of the trees stranded and surrounded by water. Down in Falkirk it's the background noise I notice most. Traffic. After so many months of Acharacle and Loch Shiel silence and peace, the noise is a very unpleasant intrusion.
Überall in Norwegen - auch auf den entlegensten Straßen - sind wir auf Biker getroffen. Teils verwegene Ritter der Landstraße, gesittete Langsamfahrer, coole Bikerinnen, Oldies mit ihren alten Maschinen und dem Werkzeugkoffer dabei - alle auf dem Weg nach Norden, alle voll bepackt und gut gegen das unberechenbare Wetter geschützt. Und alle waren irgendwie vereint in ihrem Ziel, dem hohen Norden.
I thought a blast of bright orange colour might be a great way to start the week. Butterfly weed, found at a local park last summer. Happy Monday!
