the weight of our being
suddenly very white and vivid;
everything suddenly the color
of our subconscious, our dreams,
whiteness that would astound
even the most pessimistic
of prophets;
the dog has lost her marbles, running
in repeated circles
pushing her black nose into the snow,
crouching on front legs,
and then rampant scattering,
circles again, her tail
ecstatic , her paws seeming gliding
over the white ground.
and all the kids
can do is laugh.

Mustafa's- everything you could possibly want, all under one roof. This was the main reason I had braved the rains to come here. I was looking for Alicafe, hoping to find it here after being surprised that no one had heard of it in it's country of origin- Malaysia. I found it here at Mustafa's eventually. But I digress. Mustafa’s, known initially as Mohammed Mustafa, is a large supermarket and department store in Singapore. This is the shopping destination numero uno for Singaporean Indians and visitors from India, Located on Syed Alwi Road in Singapore's ethnic of Little India district, Mustafa's is attracts hordes of shoppers due to the wide variety of products and services it offers at very modest prices. (Singapore, Sept. 2023)
Nature is usually full of complex patterns and varied colours so I am always fascinated by what snow does to this natural world.
This is one of our summer swimming places, the end of a jetty sticking out into the nearest lake.

Steve and I got to Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream at just the right time. There was no line, and there were just two seats open. This was the scene before we left: a line, but plenty of seats.
