Sometimes as I'm driving along, scenes are just too good to pass up like this one as the filtered light was trying to break through the clouds and the snowflakes were flying. Photographed Sunday morning as I was coming home from the grocery store, along CO7 south of Estes Park.

An herbaceous perennial with a dwarf growing habit, that reaches approximately 35cm in height when in flower. It forms a clump of arching, narrow, strap-like green leaves and vibrant yellow and orange flowers to 8cm across. It flowers consistently during the summer months until the first frost.
