A surprise guest on Everest at dawn.
Mount Everest, Tibet / Nepal
This is me standing on the top of the world at around 7am in the morning on 26 May 2011. Exactly five years ago today and very happy memories.
Galanthus elwesii 'Mount Everest' in the evening sun. Stunning white flowers of this snowdrop variety catching up last sunrays. Taken in the garden. Bath, England, UK.
Thank you for your visit, comments and favours, very much appreciated.

Mt. Everest is built entirely from recycled pixels excavated from the Grand Canyon. The Highest High you'll ever get /*Windlight Sky @ 0m to 4096m: "default" Sky @ 400m to 450m: "Coastal Sunset" Sky @ 450m to 600m: "Midnight"*/
Everest, known as Sagarmāthā in Nepal and Chomolungma in Tibet had snow blowing off the peak on a really clear morning. A nice view of Lhotse and Nuptse on the right.
From Airplane flyby. I had my Hasselblad 500 CM and got this shot. I finally had my negatives professionally scanned so this is a better version of one I uploaded some time ago that I'd scanned from a photo.

Mount Everest (1/3)
Its height is 8,848 meters (or 29,029 feet) above sea level. This imposing work of nature is located on the international border between China and Nepal. The mountain is so high that it usually drags a cloud with it, because of the rotation of the earth.
When you look at the sky and see a commercial plane, very small there above, consider that Everest peak has such a height. Not for nothing in Tibet is it called "Mother of the Universe".
Everest: The highest mountain in the world.
"It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves"

"It's the cure, it's a poison, I don't have a choice in
The silent defiance that I find my voice in
'Cause I have decided to just keep going
It's the rush, it's the feeling that keeps me believing
That I have the strength when I don't have a reason
To fight is my vice when I don't have the right
To just keep going."

stunning reflection of Everest shown on my trekking path to Everest Base Camp. Having a wonderful experience seeing the surreal of mother Earth.
Getting an interesting image of Mt Everest I knew would not be easy. Everyone with the physical capacity to do so is taken to the same places and take images of the same compositions. But unlike the vast majority who make it this far, and who ascend Kala Patthar (5645m) pre-dawn for sunrise, I opted for sunset, not just for the golden glow on the world's highest peak, but because I had figured out the day before that there would be a special guest arriving on the scene to complement the glorious light and add some interest.
You can get the view of the great mt. everest, Mt. lhotse, Mt. Nuptse and many other beautiful Himlayas from this view point.
For today I have another photograph from my 2014 trip to Khumbu region in #Nepal. An impressive view of Lhotse and the Everest on the left, protruding above the ridge.
Ever thought of standing and breathing in front of the top of the world. Well the path is very accessible to it’s visitors but not so easy if you are not used to trekking in high mountain areas.
There are some Challenges you might face while trekking to everest base camp
. Altitude sickness(biggest danger is being at high altitude where your body gets less oxygen which can cause AMS, which can be fatal if it develops to HACE or HAPE. Do research more on this topic).
. Extreme weather and flight cancellation(weather is unpredictable so the flight can be delayed or you might not land in lukla and get diverted for hours to an airport in the middle of nowhere before finally having to land)( pre information is highly required to trek in nepal)
. Food stomach troubles and tea house conditions (If you are not careful while choosing tea houses and guest houses for your spending your night you might get stomach troubles due to not so good conditions of few tea houses, and trust us everest region is no good place to get your stomach ache, so it is highly recommended to spend few extra dollars and stay in a good quality hotel)

Saving the highest for last in the #HighestPeaks series, it is of course: Mount Everest. One of the harder summits to spot from space, as the whole Himalayas are huge mountains!

Expedition Everest
Disney's Animal Kingdom
Walt Disney World, Fla.
What a thrill it was to finally do some photography at Animal Kingdom at night. It's a great reason to visit Orlando in the winter since the sun sets so early and the park was open until 8pm this particular night.
We were so busy trying to photograph as much as we could that we never even got to ride Everest. I don't think it even crossed my mind until reviewing the shots.
Sounds like a good reason to go back again!
Mount Everest is still the ultimate mountaineering adventure. An ultimate achievement any mountain climber can boast of: an exciting opportunity for anyone desiring to at the pinnacle of the Earth is one of life's most rewarding experiences, a guided expedition: Climb with our experienced Everest summiteers guides and mountaineers One base camp and four additional higher Camps supported by highly experienced local mountaineers, guides, and crew members Expedition includes acclimatization and cultural trek into the scenic Sherpa heartland of the Khumbu Valley
One of the popular attractions at Disney is Expedition Everest rollercoaster. It was overcast but very appealing for photographers. Clouds can bring that dramatic look.
The last of the day's sunlight falls on Mount Everest while Mount Nupste rises in the foreground in Solukhumbu, Nepal.

A misty sunrise over Mt Everest, also known as Chomolungma or Sagarmatha, towering above at a massive 8,848 metres (29,029 ft). The summit of Mt Everest has less then 33% of the oxygen available at sea level. I hiked up Kala Pattar 5,644.5 m (18,519 ft) in the dark with a head torch three mornings in a row in an attempt to get this shot. At 5500m you have exactly 50% of the Oxygen available at sea level. The highest mountain on earth, Mt Everest is in the Mahalangur Range of the Himalayas and sits on the international border between China (Tibet Autonomous Region) and Nepal. Photo taken on Fiji Velvia slide film.

The Expedition EVEREST adventure begins when guests board an old mountain railway destined for Mount Everest. As the train heads for the snowy mountain peak, it passes through bamboo forests, waterfalls and fields of glaciers.
The excitement begins when it's discovered that the train tracks end in a twisted wreck of metal. From here, the train careens backwards and forwards through darkness, frigid canyons and treacherous caverns. A face to face encounter with the legendary Yeti (guardian of the Himalayas) brings this tumultuous train ride to its dramatic conclusion.
