On end of a ethernet cable and four blue LED's linked together to form a block then covered with black tape with eight slits cut into it.The block was placed behind the plug and the camera set for a four second exposure.A flash was used to light the plug first then I just move the block along for the rest of the exposure : )

Taken with a Canon 60mm USM Macro lens. Type L for a better view.

¿Cómo sería nuestra vida sin la red ?

When you are into technology as much as me, sometimes you gotta burn some money on basic infrastructure. $200 in cables, and I had to order another $100 not too long after this. Issues being addressed: Redundant ethernet cables to each computer, USB2 to USB3 upgrade (have since bought yet another USB hub to increase my computer to 23 USB ports), increased electric guitar roaming, blacklight computer cables, crowded electrical outlets, free monitor missing cables, running out of places to put guitars (I later bought 15 more guitar wall mounts).

My temporary setup for my Mac Mini until some new "furniture" comes in. I'll be sure to upload a new pic ASAP once I have one. Either way, right now my Mac Mini is sitting on top of a laptop fan which I have placed on my Xbox. All in all, the setup is still far smaller then the Xbox. You can also see the Apple Remote, my 3G iPod, and my iPod Shuffle.

I love trying to patch stuff in here.

The white cable with a yellow plug is the ethernet cable linking my tv set to the internet box. Sadly it's not working. I can use the internet OK on my iMac, iPad & iPhone but not the tv. (DVDs work OK) Faulty cable or faulty tv? I shall have to get someone who knows more than I do to investigate it 😳

After yesterdays internet woes I have become overly familiar with these little beauties. For those who are interested I had two conflicting IP addresses on the same router which was causing the intermittent fault. All sorted now. :-)

So I was talkin' to my fellow St. Luke's Church member Mr. B. His red GMC pickup truck was a regular sight at the Church.

Feelin' a bit mischievous, with a twinkle in my eye, I asked him "What's that yellow Ethernet cable, B?

You got internet on this truck?"

He told me "No. That's what holds the grill on!"

He is just so natural.

I love it.

Thanks Mr. B.

Back in the days before the Internet killed tradeshows (at least in my business) vendors gave away anything they could slap a logo on. Most if it ended up in the trash but this compact sturdy

ethernet cable travels in my computer bag.

Scavenge Challenge: October #12) Everybody loves free stuff! What useful item do you have which cost you nothing?

As you can see, I bought a stand for both my Mac Mini and my iPod. The iPod stand is in the tilted black tux style. I like it quite a bit. Wedged between them is the larger-than-life power supply which I hope to have out of the way eventually. For now, though, I'm quite happy. It's very sexy all-together.
