Esspresso is delicious in any coffeeshop in Grenoble. In this particular quarter, there are several cafes all competing in excellence of service and product. On Thursdays, Fridays, and the weekend, there is hardly a place to stand up, not to mention finding an empty seat. Watching people talk, chat, laugh, and sip whatever drink they have in hand is a delight.... They are such friendly people too. Wish you a wonderful day!

Sip that last sip of coffee, scoop up the foam at the bottom of the cup (I always do it, no exceptions - this is my favourite part!) and take a deep breath. Now the day is complete.

City life is a fast paced life. Most of the times you commute to or from work, you run errands, and routine usually leaves you no time to enjoy little moments such as pausing for a few minutes, stepping into a coffee shop and enjoying a nice cup of coffee. Pause, look around you, observe the people that happily prepare your drink, appreciate the moment and take a breath. And you never know who is going to be the person sitting next to you. It could be a total stranger, or it could be someone that you may see for the first time yet it feels like you know him for years. All you have to do is just turn to him and say hello..

I bought these little blue espresso cups a few weeks ago, probably one of the few blue things in my house. I couldn't resist filling them up with the final harvest of peas from the garden before bagging them up to freeze.
I slid the warmth right out of this one to focus on the Blue & Green, or rather the Green in Blue. Happy Slider's Sunday everyone! Have a fabulous end to your weekend!

One of the easiest desserts to make. Was supposed to make these for Mother's Day, but we had cherry and apple strudel instead.
Recipe (just for Kate ;)):
Ingredients:
1/2 cup esspresso coffee
1/2 cup coffee liqueur
approx. 16 savoiardis (lady fingers)
1 3/4 cup mascarpone
1 1/2 cup pouring cream
3 tablespoons icing sugar
Method:
1. Mix mascarpone, cream and sugar in a bowl using an electric mixer until peaks form.
2. Break up the savoiardi biscuits, dunk them into the coffe/liqueur mix and place into a glass. Add a dollop of mascarpone mix.
3. Follow with another layer of savoiardis and mascarpone.
4. Dust with some cocoa powder. Refrigerate until ready to serve
Enjoy!

I love the colours that Shari has put together for this card.
I created a flourish border using the clear dot flourish, worn lipstick distress ink and Adirondack Esspresso dye ink.
The square pannel has been cut from white card stock using the spellbinders labels 1 nesting dies and then inked with tattered rose and worn lipstick distress ink. The flower was stamped from the Artistic Borders set and then coloured using perfect pearls and liquid pearls the centre then finished off with glossy accents. Buttons & flowers from Hero Arts - Pink flower was white and coloured with tattered rose distress ink.
I had a wonderful day today!! Met for lunch with senorashutterbug, who was spending a day in NY with her beautiful daughter!! Food: Delicious; Dessert: fabuous; esspresso: great; few hours with awesome flirckr friend: PRICELESS!!

The district uses an Aboriginal word which they used for the local high mountain. The Learmonth brothers were the first with a pastoral run here in 1838. A village slowly emerged in the mid-1840s with a Post Office, Presbyterian Church (1847) and Hiscock’s blacksmiths. When Hiscock discovered the first major gold in Victoria in August 1851 he started the rush to the Ballarat goldfields. The village became a town when surveyed in 1850. A local gold mine operated and the town developed with fine buildings. Local flour miller Robert Allen bought some land in 1856 and erected the Institute building on it in 1861 as a gift to the town. The Institute and its library closed in 1926 and it became the property of the town. It was restored in 1988. The impressive combined Town Hall and Courthouse was built in 1886; along the street from that is the former National Bank on the corner (1866) and across the intersection is the gabled Crown Hotel built in 1885. The original 1851 wooden one burnt down in 1885. Beside the hotel is the Post Office (1874) and beyond is Thomas Hiscock’s cottage (1851). Along the Main Street towards Geelong is the Presbyterian Church with three side gables built in 1860. The town also has Anglican and Catholic churches.

"Free hand" hdr pano... 5x3 shots +2/0/-2 f-stops. Free hand is indeed a lie: The borrowed tripod was so ramshackle that I had the "free hand feeling". And the fact that I didn't use a nodal point adapter was not very helpfull.
This is just an evidence that you don't need expensive equipment for panography.
By the way: This is the new esspresso bar of my brother-in-law in Hamburg. Opening day was in May 2007.

"100 Strangers" (7/100)
I met Jaimee by accident... a very happy accident indeed. I was getting comfortable with my coffee and croissant when I noticed a red Nikon attached to a young woman (Yes, I do notice things in that order.) I asked if she had shot gotten anything interesting and there began a most pleasant couple of hours discussing art, literature and much more.
Jaimee is a painter and aspiring writer in the art department at a large university nearby. Having dealt with some health issues that made concentration difficult, she produces beautiful watercolours, fantastic and intricate multi-layered paintings as well as writing fiction. Jaimee's a steam punk - and has lived around the country and was spending her morning roaming around shooting architectural details to use in her paintings. As ever, I expressed my admiration for anyone who could create graphic art. All too soon my parking limit was reached and I had to leave, but did so energized and impressed with Jaimee's talent and intelligence.
I only wished I'd had a portrait lens, handy!
