The essense of dawn during an early Autumn morning. I have recently switched to full frame with a new Canon 6D and have been spending a lot of time adjusting. Originally, I was going to reveal the marsh grass in its entirety, but instead decided that a silhouette was more effective. This led to an inside joke that this photo "isn't about the grass." Sometimes, less is more I suppose. As the clouds moved inward, the color quickly faded revealing a new scene soon to come...

When I get the chance to walk along the Seawall in Vancouver, I always pause at the first glimpse of Siwash Rock rising from the harbour as a Sentinel. In this photograph you will see al Douglas Fir sprouting from the crest like a crown of legendary stories. And so it is ... or should I say and so they are ... for there are many stories and legends of this rock but none can capture the essense of viewing the landscape ... not even this image :)
It was a radiant west coast morning shining through the canopy of Stanley Park when I arrived with the first of my trusty Nikons
It's a great place to watch the sunset, sunrise, walk along the sea wall or just enjoy some incredible views.
For some it is symbolic of a warrior standing pure against the rain and lashing winds, for sailors a bowling pin guiding them home. For me, I love the crown of the tree standing in the sanctuary of a beautiful harbour facing out to the world: strong confidant but know the future is never soft but will be full of wonder and possibilities.

The indirect sunlight from the just risen Sun caught the Silver Birch trees, Heather and Ferns - but what initially caught my eye was the morning dew on the spider webs just to the right of centre in the shot. For me, this image captures quite well the essense of Cannock Chase, hope you like it as well.

What is human being if not collection of atoms? It's akin to the two inconsistent images of the nature of light. To the greatest minds of our time these two images contained the essense of quantum mystery. One image argues that light is a stream of little energy packets called "photons" They collides with other electrons like billiard balls, or as a Wilson cloud chamber in which photons leave a beautiful tracks similar to contrails of jet planes. This image reaveals the particle behavious of the photon and has been observed closely numerous of times. But if we do not follow the trajectory of the photon they simply change their behaviour thus these energy packets are no longer examine the particle-like trajectory but became complex wave vectors who do not appear on the dial of aparatus no matter how hard we will try...

A wise instruction of one of the Fathers of the Church says: if you want to convert somebody to your faith, you should show it. Nifont, a Greek himself, invited Byzantine masters to make the murals of the church. The masters made a miracle. Great things happened to me last night, I talked to a guy who works at the Nevada Art Museum, and he put in amazing words about me to the Dean of Art at the Parsons Art & Design school in NYC! Im so stoked!
I must admit that for a compact camera Panasonic DMC-ZX1 is rated by me as more than excellent !!!! This shot is difficult to be taken even with an expensive DSLR. Parga is one of the most picturesque small sea towns of Ipiros. A town that provides the essense of an island to its visitor. Beautiful moonlight showers the small sea rocks found at the entrance of Parga's harbour. Enjoy the beautiful night scene !!!

I was looking for a blue dawn n movement of wave suddenly the boy came n climbed on the stone, surprisingly he gave me a essense of life to me...
I saw this guy come out of New Smyrna and thought "yippee an extra!" The sun was out when I got here, but a fast approaching storm was looking like I would get skunked. As he got closer, I thought "Storm light!"
I was losing sun very quickly and was ready to pack it in, when I heard his horn. Low and behold I had the "essense of sun" (as Schauer puts it), I had the storm clouds....But this is what I got! Long hood forward power move from the shop to Bowden. Out of the picture to the left were two dolphins feeding during high tide. July 24th, 2013.

Note on the bed: if you read my descriptions you'll know I never add anything extra in the credits but I really like the single sits on this bed as they are animated not static. Like this one where I am laying: my eyes open and close, my head tilts and goes straight, my hands move down and then up in gestures as if I am thinking or talking to someone. So I took several pics and they give different nuances of moods depending on where I captured the movement. It's nice when a single sit is animated instead of only the cuddles and more sexual ones. Makes a photoshoot more interesting when you can get several photographs from one sitting.

I stood adjacent to a local waterfall and thought about slowing down my shutter to capture a more veiled look. Shooting against the afternoon light, there was no way I could manage it without having an ND filter, which, of course, was back in the car some kilometers away. Instead, I decided to embrace the light and try to capture the essence of the water itself. It was a noisy cascade down the rock, emanated out of every nook and cranny along the way, had innumerable droplets spraying outwards, and a fine mist beyond that. It left me a little wet but with this as the end result.

I probably sat almost an hour on the beach fascinated by the "tricks" performed by these boarders. Some of them elevate easily over 10 metres into the air.
Of all the shots I took, I think this one captures the essense of the sport, and the satisfaction received from it.

One of the proudest legacy of the 26th President is the crown jewel of the American conservation era - the National Park system. And while I have been fortunate enough to visit 34 of these memorable places, very few have stuck to my mind and my heart, and one of them is the Canyonlands National Park. And nothing captures the essense of this rugged desert terrain like the view from Mesa Arch at sunrise, an arch suspended over a vertiginous cliff overlooking a vast canyonland.
One of the rituals as a photographer is to make the dawn trip to Mesa Arch, squeeze your tripod in between the two dozen others, and eek out a few shots just as the sun crests the horizon, and one more just as it disappears behind the arch. While it is photogenic place, it was the view that the location presented that I found the most endearing: cliff walls glowing yellow in the morning sun, stupas, stacks, and hoodoos silhouetting in the slanted light, twisted canyon disappearing into the vast expanse of the horizon. The sense of belonging and being humbled by nature is perhaps the primary reason why such regions must be preserved for posterity.
