The boy was playing on a climbing frame when I took this image, I then rendered him out and placed a picture frame around him.
My new place amuses me endlessly. It's surrounded by little escapes. The river is only three minutes away. So close to the highway yet, somehow, so magically peaceful.
I discovered today that right next door is this little ghetto house in abandonment. That's my housemate, Carrick, who just jumped over the fence. We got a tad curious today and thought we'd stand on a chair (for me at least) to check our neighbours out.

Materialists often label spiritual seekers as “escapists,” which to some degree is justified.
After all, any intelligent person certainly wants to escape a situation of danger.
But by definition a materialist is one who doesn’t understand that being it in a material body and in the material world is a dangerous situation.
Hypnotized by the “life’s what you make it” and “one body, one life, one opportunity” dogmas, such people don’t see what is clearly visible to the enlightened: karmic danger at every step.
Yoga wisdom compares this world of repeated birth and death, samsara, to a blazing forest fire.
Just as in the ordinary sense it’s prudent to want and try to escape a forest fire, its also in our real self interest to escape material existence.
Bhakti yogis, however, are not simply other-world focused.
While keeping their sights on the ultimate goal, they are also busy working in the “real world” to uplift even stubborn materialists who refuse to acknowledge the heat and smoke all around them.
I aspire for their sublime company.
This place scares me.
Wanna travel.
Wanna see different faces
Wanna hear different names
Wanna... Escape.

A common sight at small town 4th of July's everywhere.....in a normal year! This one is from 2007 but don't think balloon technology has changed all that much since then. It would likely look about the same today.
