For me the Happy Caturday theme "more memories" wouldn't be complete without a photo of my sweet Fynnie. It's still not easy for me to look at photos of him as after more than two years the loss still hurts. He was my soulmate and I still miss him every day but in the meantime I have learned to cling to the happy memories and be grateful for the time I had with him. He was a very sweet boy and always wanted to make me happy.

On the North Sea coast here in Denmark there are fantastic sunsets almost every day. A fantastic place to live, a state with great people, an intact culture and - also important - a great road system compared to Germany. Denmark 10 points!

Unter dem Motto „Creating Tomorrow“ fand das Lichtfestival 2021 in Berlin statt. Immer wieder ein Genuss, um die neuen und alten Motive in die Szene zu setzen.
The Light Festival 2021 took place in Berlin under the motto “Creating Tomorrow”. Always a pleasure to put the new and old motifs in the scene.
When clearing out my mom's house after she moved to a care facility, I found this lovely pill box on her nightstand. It was broken, but nothing a little glue couldn't fix. Not sure how long she had it, or where it came from. I cannot ask her, as a thief named Alzheimer stole all her memories. I decided of all her things, that was what I wanted to keep as my treasure.
Als wir das Haus meiner Mutter ausräumten nachdem sie in eine Pflegeeinrichtung gezogen war, fand ich diese schöne Pillendose auf ihrem Nachttisch. Sie war zerbrochen, aber nichts, was ein wenig Kleber nicht reparieren konnte. Ich bin nicht sicher, wie lange sie diese Dose hatte oder woher sie kam. Ich kann sie nicht fragen, da ein Dieb namens Alzheimer all ihre Erinnerungen gestohlen hat. Von all ihren Sachen, diese Pillendose war was ich als meinen Schatz zur Erinnerung behalten wollte.
These beautiful flowers and much more we saw in Sorrent / Italy 3 years ago. Here the flowers shops are closed and I have to enjoy the old ones.

When summer makes way for autumn, all that is left of it are memories of colours, sunshine, warmth... memories that can sparkle like stardust. Or so ;) Anyways, that's what I thought when I noticed the colourful light reflections on a few petals of a bunch of purplish rose coloured Asters that stood next to my living room window two and a half weeks ago. The enchanting light play caused by a decorative glass element in the shape of a huge diamond that I keep on my window sill instantly caught my eye, and it also felt like a farewell greeting of summer, so I grabbed the LX100 and took a few captures. Slide-ified for Sunday in Analog Efex where I used the Zoom Blur filter, a vignette and one of the Photo Plate "Concrete" filters to create a dreamy, starry, outer space like effect. I also did some dodging and burning in PS and highlighted the colours and details on the illuminated petals in Luminar AI.
Wenn der Sommer Platz macht für den Herbst, dann bleibt uns nur noch die Erinnerung an warme, sonnige, entspannte Tage. Erinnerungen, die aber funkeln können wie Sternenstaub. Oder so ähnlich ;) Jedenfalls waren das in etwa meine Gedanken, als ich vor gut zweieinhalb Wochen ein zauberhaftes Lichtspiel auf den Blättern eines Sommerastern-Straußes am Wohnzimmerfenster entdeckte. Auf dem Fensterbrett liegt auch ein Glasdekoteil in der Form eines riesigen Diamanten, der immer sehr schöne Regenbogen-Lichtspiegelungen an die Wand zaubert – und dieses Mal auch auf den Strauß Blumen (die sonst immer auf dem Tisch stehen). Und so habe ich mir dann auch gleich die LX100 geschnappt, um ein paar Fotos vom Abschiedsgruß des Sommers 2021 zu machen :)
Dieses Foto habe ich am 2.9.2022 gemacht, aber in meiner Erinnerung bewahre ich ihre Schönheit.
Die Schönheit ist die Blüte des Glücks.

I'm beginning to doubt that we will still get a real winter this year, that deserves the name. We had one, almost exactly a year ago. It looked like this.
The sunrise at the Dog of Hell in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains was one of the coldest and for me the most impressive of last winter.
So I'm watching the photograph, feeling the icy wind in my face again and remember how amazed I was.
Ich beginne inzwischen daran zu zweifeln, dass wir hier in diesem Jahr noch einen richtigen Winter bekommen, der den Namen auch verdient. Vor so ziemlich genau einem Jahr hatten wir einen. Das sah dann so aus.
Der Sonnenaufgang am Höllenhund im Elbsandsteingebirge war einer der kältesten und der für mich beeindruckendste des letzten Winters.
Und so schaue ich mir das Bild an, fühle wieder den eisigen Wind in meinem Gesicht und erinnere mich, wie fasziniert ich war.

Die olympischen Spiele sind zu Ende. Ich war 2008 dort. Auf Grund der Gefährdung hatte ich nur eine kleine Kamera mit. Daher entspricht das Bild nicht mehr heutigen Ansprüchen. Aber es ist eine bleibende Erinnerung.
The Olympic Games are over. I was there in 2008. Due to the danger I had just a small camera. Therefore, the image no longer corresponds to today's requirements. But it is a lasting memory.
