Rich patina – the texture and beauty of leather on an e-book reader case

There's something deeply satisfying about the texture of quality leather. I liked how this picture captured that aesthetic, with cognac and mahogany tones bringing out a gorgeous patina—those natural variations in colour and sheen that come from regular handling and use. The subtle creasing and wear patterns around the edges and high-contact areas denote a shared journey with its owner.

There again, the built-in card slots and elastic closure strap introduce practical textural contrasts: sleek, modern functionality meets nearly timeless materials.

Finally, what really drew my eye is how this warm, organic leather texture frames the cool, digital minimalism of the e-ink display. If you like, a meeting of analogue and digital as one's fingertips move from butter-soft leather to smooth screen – from crafted to high-tech.

This is texture with purpose and personality.

Santa very kindly gave me an e-reader for Christmas. I have resisted getting one as I do love reading paper books. With a big trip coming up though, I thought an e-reader would be easier for travelling...I have yet to try it so don't know how I will get on with it. I hope Santa was kind to you and that you are all having a very happy Christmas.

Love how the light filtering through the "perforations" in the weave creates an aesthetic pattern on the cushion and the Kindle ereader on the resin deck chair.

Enjoy your day and thanks for dropping by.

Penguin Island is a satirical novel by Anatole France first published in 1908. The book details the history of the penguins and is written as a critique of human nature, and is also a satire on France's political history, including the Dreyfus affair. Morals, customs and laws are satirised within the context of the fictional land of Penguinia, where the animals were baptised erroneously by the myopic Abbot Maël. The book is ultimately concerned with the perfectibility of mankind. As soon as the Penguins are transformed into humans, they begin robbing and murdering each other. By the end of the book, a thriving civilization is destroyed by terrorist bombs.

Barnes and Noble allowed students to put their hands on several different kinds of Nooks!

Got it as a Christmas present! I love it. <3

As for size requirements: the distance between the two arrows on the e-reader is one inch.

Not a particularly original idea - I'm expecting to see dozens similar in the group pool, but I couldn't think of anything else that would fit into three inches.

Would like to thank the boyfriend for getting me this Nook e-reader. He's the best of the best. :)

For the Macro Monday challenge (May 25th 2015) "Technology"

T S Eliot on my iPad! I've been pursuing the Holy Grail of the perfect e-Reader for about 20 years now! From the tiny screens of the first PDAs, the idea of being able to take books with me in my pocket was so alluring!

And now with the iPad and Kindle I have at last got readers that I am more than happy with! The Kindle is great for novels and poetry (what would be in paperback) and the iPad is great for those too, but shines with my photographic books and Photography magazines.

There's also the specs .... a technology that is older and still works well ;o)

I'm an e-readie. =}

I love to take pictures of the book I am reading at the moment. In this case, it was on nook but I liked the book so much that I had to buy the paperback version. So, yeah.. I already finished reading it and I want to see the movie now but I will have to wait for the DVD.

done for Macro Mondays, old and new (evolution)

Some days we just sit on the porch and read. Last September 10 was one of those days.

A couple times I got up and wandered the yard. Among other things I found bees on sedum, and apples on the ground. I also found the weed photo I posted for my daily project photo.
