Another way of adding ripple in equirectangular image.
In this case povray is used. Original image is put on a sphere. Camera is placed at the center of the sphere. The translucent bumpy surface is put just below the camera to mimic the water surface. You can even see the reflection of people and the distorted tile below the surface.

A test render of a mandelbox in equirectangular projection. Scale = -1.9. This probably is not the most aesthetically appealing region of this mandelbox, but it was a first attempt at creating a pano of this amazing mathematical object. The details certainly have an organic feel to them with this fractal.

Helie's Ogre Bath winner from outside. Still having some issues capturing all the detail, which is why there's a bit of sky missing.
A small pond near my work where the ducks and geese like to hang out. There was one goose in particular who did not like me being there and kept chasing me around the park. There must have been several hundred birds and most of them didn't care what I was doing, but that one- he just slowly chased me down hissing at me. When I let my guard down for this panorama, he snuck up and bit my leg, scaring the crap out of me, which then made me laugh my ass off.
