A group of wild Dartmoor ponies at the foothills of White Tor. Some of them looked quite shaggy with parts of their winter coat still clinging on.
I had a little jaunt into the New Forest recently even though the weather forecast had been foul and I nearly didn’t bother taking my camera. The forecast turned out to be pretty accurate except for a few fleeting moments of light as I arrived. Luckily this coincided with these two buddies enjoying a little horse-play. I literally only had a few seconds to get out of the car and grab my shot. None of my camera settings bore any resemblance to what they should have been unfortunately but it was still a lovely scene.

I enjoyed some much needed equine therapy today. Just Pete and I. It was good. Quiet and peaceful, just the way I like it.
I am wiped out tonight. Have a good night all, I'll catch up with you later

Ride with me, wild and free
Ride on me, until we see
Fields of green,a secret land
Where i'll feel your soft hand
On my neck, holding on tight
As you ride, into the night
Across the land of emerald green
Where sweet beauty, it is see
Riding wild,across natures sea
Riding free, ride on me
This one horse with the star marking on its forehead was certainly the one that struck up a connection with me. She looked truly beautiful in that country paddock.
* As mentioned in the bookmark I'll be away until Tuesday night, so apologies in advance for any late replies.

I am still under the impression that there is nothing alive quite so beautiful as a horse.

made attempts at getting a somewhat serious portrait virtually impossible. Cav just wouldn't cooperate. Morgans really have a mind of their own. Keep you on your toes and in your saddle. or NOT!

A CH-53K King Stallion from HMH-461 'Ironhorse' down low over the Colorado River during a training flight as part of a deployment for training at MCAS Yuma in March 2023. While the Yuma DFT was largely to provide aircraft and crews to support the CH-53K's first participation in the Marine Corps' Weapons and Tactics Instructor course, junior crews used the deployment as an opportunity to build flight hours in the 'Kilo' over the vast training spaces of the desert southwest.
