The mythical lake of Epirus (drakolimni). The lake resides at an altitude of 2050m above sea level, on the mountain range of Tymfi. According to the legend, it owes its name to a dragon, which is believed to have found its natural habitat within this lake.
Kipinas Monastery is located in Tzoumerka, Epirus - Greece
The monastery of Kipina, just outside the village of Kalarrites, seems to be a part of the rock inside which it is built. It was constructed in 1212 in the honor of the Assumption of Virgin Mary and its name probably originates from the gardens that were cultivated by the monks beneath it. A short path leads to the wooden bridge above the 4-meter high cliff that will take you inside the monastery. The construction of the monastery is impressive as every part of the rock has been taken advantage of, while at the same time it gives off a sense of hospitality and serenity. Nowadays, there are no monks in the monastery and in order to visit it, you will have to take the key from the coffee house in Kipina village.
The bridge Gretsi is located below the village Palaiopyrgos at Pogoni area in Epirus. It bridges Gormos river at Gretsi place. It was a passage for the locals who used it to go to their fields and the mill.
It has three arches, acquired to the rocks. The big one bridges the cliff that is located directly underneath it and the water creates a waterfall!
I found myself in the area of Palaiopirgos in November without having it planned. It was in the evening and I had just a little time until dark. Arriving at Paleopirgos there was absolute wilderness. There was no one to ask for information and I was just standing out of the car waiting for the ‘deus ex machine’. And he did come in a farm truck. He informed me that the access was impossible for that time. Approaching it with my own car was difficult due to bad road and hiking was a dangerous case because of the sheepdogs of the area. I decided to leave and come back better prepared at the earliest opportunity. Eventually not only did I see the bridge but I also photographed it. A big thank you to Christos Mentis from Kefalovriso , Pogoni for taking the time to guide me to the bridge.
Στην περιοχή του Παλαιόπυργου βρέθηκα το Νοέμβριο χωρίς να το έχω προγραμματίσει.Απόγευμα και με λίγο σχετικά χρόνο μέχρι να σκοτεινιάσει. Φθάνοντας στον Παλαιόπυργο ερημιά απόλυτη. Κανείς για πληροφορίες κι εγω έξω απο το αυτοκίνητο να περιμένω τον απο μηχανής θεό.Ο απο μηχανής θεός εμφανίστηκε σε ένα αγροτικό .Με πληροφόρησε οτι η πρόσβαση ήταν ακατόρθωτη για εκείνη την ώρα . Η προσέγγιση με το δικό μου αυτοκίνητο δύσκολη λόγω κακού δρόμου και η περίπτωση πεζοπορίας επικίνδυνη λόγω των τσομπανόσκυλων της περιοχής.Αποφάσισα να επιστρέψω και να επανέλθω καλύτερα προετοιμασμένη σε πρώτη ευκαιρία. Τελικά οχι απλά είδα το γεφύρι αλλά και το φωτογράφισα. Ενα μεγάλο ευχαριστώ στο Χρήστο Μεντή απο το Κεφαλόβρυσο Πωγωνίου για το χρόνο που διέθεσε για να με οδηγήσει στο γεφύρι .

Every day, Mrs. Vasiliki, despite her advanced age, takes her few goats out to graze on the Gratista and Omalia mountains, which rise above Vasiliko, the village of origin of my late father, in Pogoni, Epirus.
Sheep graze freely in the surrounding area of a traditional, picturesque chapel in the traditional settlement of Dolos, Pogoni,Epirus,Greece (Hellas)
The photo is taken at Bagiotikos river ,tributary of Voidomatis ,near the village Kipi in Central Zagori ! It's a place that I discovered for first time this spring.

A breaking of my right hand stuck me in the house for about two months. . This photo is one of the first, after my adventure.Of course I lost all the autumn with its colors and I try to catch up with the last autumn shades.
Ένα σπάσιμο του δεξιού χεριού με καθήλωσε στο σπίτι για δυο περίπου μήνες . Η φωτογραφία αυτή είναι από τις πρώτες, μετά την περιπέτειά μου. Βέβαια έχασα όλο το φθινόπωρο με τα χρώματά του και προσπαθώ να προλάβω τις τελευταίες φθινοπωρινές αποχρώσεις.
