todays photo is a macro shot of the control knobs on my blue sparkle les paul...got some nice bokeh in as well
Saturday, the wife and I finally took up PappyV ’s offer to come out and see his band lay it down at The Road Trip in the Capay valley west of Woodland, Ca…afterwards, my only question was, “What took us so long?”…
JT & the Cheaters, were founded in April 1972 by Jim Thomas, Paul Vineyard & Dick Ramos along with their late friend Mike Lopez…They have made their hometown of Vacaville, Ca. proud playing a classic mix of oldies, blues, country & reggae…I was fortunate to have Pappy sit in with our house band at 3 of our annual birthday BBQ’s, “Woodstock” and he is always welcome to come and jam...
Epiphone Les Paul
Changed the tuners, to grovers. Nice work but the look is not sooo cool

One of a series of photos in which I am attempting to develop and improve my skills with Off Camera Flash.
Yes, that's a left-handed Les Paul.
Strobist info: Nikon SB-25 in Interfit Strobies 60x60cm softbox at 1/8 power top center/top right of image. V-flat reflector to the left side/left bottom corner of image. (See setup shot for a better idea of placement.) Triggered with Cybersync triggers.
Shot of my Epiphone Les Paul Deluxe. I have switched out the pick ups with some Seymour Duncan's. Did some custom wiring, so i can split the coils and have parallel wiring with push pull pots.
So since the acquisition of my Fender Strat, I have neglected my red head. I am truly a Les Paul guy at heart. So I decided to practice last night with my first baby, the red head. Boy did I miss her.
Here is a lil snipit that came out of last nights practice. Had to quickly record the idea that came to mind before I lost it.
enjoy.

I almost always buy sub $500 guitars exclusively... I'm so cynical about gear purchases because I haven't had any of the success I want with it...yet I've invested so much resources to it... I can't quit but I'm having trouble getting to the next level.
What you see here is my beloved rig.
She's a 1977 Fender Twin Reverb (Silverface) with upgraded tubes (Groove Tubes), biased and recapped. I play her thru Planet Waves curcuit breaker cables and an SBK Pedal board which has a brothel of fuzz and overdrive.
Lately my pony of choice has been my 1999 Alpine white Epiphone Les Paul slung low on a planet waves locking nylon strap littered with pinbacks from The Clash, X, and CH3.
RVCA hat or Lucha mask optional, Shure 55 (Elvis mic) not.
I know Epiphone didn't pioneer the Les Paul design, but it's still cool. It also sounds and feels good for the price I got it at.
