Seen at the grocery store this week. A pumpkin, from a botanist's perspective, is a fruit because it's a product of the seed-bearing structure of flowering plants. Vegetables, on the other hand, are the edible portion of plants such as leaves, stems, roots, bullbs, flowers, and tubers.

Petit voyage aller-retour à Montréal pour des matériaux de construction ainsi que l'épicerie. Mon fils, qui est un grand amateur de vélo de route, m'avait informé qu'il y avait une belle colonie d'hirondelle à front blanc près de chez lui et que lui semblait être un bon endroit pour la photographie selon l'heure et le niveau d'activités de ces dernières. Je m'y suis donc attardé 15 minutes, car c'était sur ma route. Le soleil était à son zénith, vraiment pas idéal pour la photo et la température était de 38 c / 100 f avec l'humidex dans le plafond. Impossible de rester plus longuement au soleil.
Deux de mes meilleures prises de ce 15 minutes.

Thank you very much for your comments, they are always very much appreciated.
Short round trip to Montreal for building materials and groceries. My son, who is a big fan of road biking, had informed me that there was a nice colony of Cliff Swallows near his house and that seemed like a good place for photography depending on the time of day, light and their level of activity. So I lingered there for 15 minutes, because it was on my way. The sun was at its zenith, definitely not ideal for the photo and the temperature was 38c /100f with the Humidex in the ceiling. Impossible to stay longer in the sun.
Two of my best takes of that 15 minutes.
The Carmel Market is the largest outdoor market in Tel Aviv, Israel. It is located in the city center, close to Allenby Street and Magen-David Square

Fong Yen Lew was known to almost everyone as Hong Hing, the name he gave to his store. Born in the late 1800s, he came to Canada and set up his business in Chemainus around 1915. His enterprise began as a laundry, but he later sold groceries, chickens and second-hand goods. Eventually, he expanded into bootlegging and running a gambling house. Hong Hing was welcome everywhere in Chemainus, just as he welcomed everyone. If you want to read the whole story:

Né à la fin des années 1800, il est venu au Canada et a établi son entreprise à Chemainus vers 1915. Son entreprise a commencé comme une blanchisserie, mais il a ensuite vendu des produits d'épicerie, des poulets et des articles d'occasion. Finalement, il s'est étendu à la contrebande et à la gestion d'une maison de jeu.

Dans les épiceries d'Alençon, le commerce de proximité bat son plein vers la fin de journée.
L'une d'elles ouvre un peu plus tardivement et commence son installation sous mes yeux avec un peu de calligraphie sur ardoise, histoire de ne pas perdre la main...

Akihabara is that part of Tokyo probably most famous for attracting anyone interest in both electronics and anime and manga - and video games. And the shops there are quick to pick up on that, like this convenience store (in Tokyo something you come across absolutely everywhere - they are locally known as コンビニ / konbini) with a Dragon quest theme. That means you here can buy your noodles, your onigiri, your coffee in a can (Japanese canned coffee is really good!), your band-aids and your plush monster. The last one is not typical of a konbini. I left the store with a package of band-aids though...

🇭🇷 My way • Put mog današnjeg rođendana
I dalje koračam istim stazama — ponekad u društvu prijatelja na četiri noge koji rado i glasno komentira svijet oko sebe. Danas, za svoj 56. rođendan, biram ovu prašnjavu stazu omeđenu suhozidima, gdje tišina ima zvuk vjetra, a put vodi do stabla sa znakom planinarske markacije. Snimljeno iznad Šila, na otočkom puteljku koji povezuje svakodnevicu — Kunjsku ulicu, uvalu Murvenicu i lokalnu trgovinu.
Možda običan kadar za prolaznika, ali meni je to moj put — moj mir, moje malo utočište.
🇬🇧 English – My way • The path of my birthday
I still walk the same paths — sometimes in the company of my four-legged friend who joyfully and loudly comments on the world around us. Today, for my 56th birthday, I chose this dusty trail bordered by dry stone walls, where silence hums with the wind and the path leads to a tree marked with a hiking sign.
Captured above Šilo, on a small island trail connecting everyday life — Kunjska Street, Murvenica Bay, and the local store.
Maybe an ordinary scene to some, but to me, this is my way — my peace, my little refuge.
🇫🇷 Français – Mon chemin • Le sentier de mon anniversaire
Je continue de marcher sur les mêmes sentiers — parfois accompagné de mon fidèle compagnon à quatre pattes qui commente bruyamment le monde qui nous entoure. Aujourd’hui, pour mes 56 ans, j’ai choisi ce chemin poussiéreux bordé de murs en pierres sèches, où le silence danse avec le vent et mène à un arbre marqué d’un signe de randonnée.
Pris au-dessus de Šilo, sur un petit sentier de l’île reliant le quotidien — la rue Kunjska, la baie de Murvenica et l’épicerie locale.
Peut-être une scène ordinaire pour certains, mais pour moi, c’est mon chemin — ma paix, mon petit refuge.
🇩🇪 Deutsch – Mein Weg • Der Pfad meines Geburtstags
Ich gehe immer noch dieselben Wege — manchmal in Begleitung meines vierbeinigen Freundes, der die Welt um uns herum lautstark kommentiert. Heute, an meinem 56. Geburtstag, habe ich diesen staubigen Pfad gewählt, gesäumt von Trockenmauern, wo die Stille im Wind summt und der Weg zu einem Baum mit Wanderzeichen führt.
Aufgenommen oberhalb von Šilo, auf einem kleinen Inselpfad, der den Alltag verbindet — Kunjska-Straße, die Bucht von Murvenica und den Dorfladen.
Vielleicht ein gewöhnliches Motiv für andere, aber für mich ist es mein Weg — mein Frieden, mein kleiner Zufluchtsort.
🇪🇸 Español – Mi camino • El sendero de mi cumpleaños
Sigo caminando por los mismos senderos — a veces acompañado por mi amigo de cuatro patas, que no duda en comentar con entusiasmo el mundo que nos rodea. Hoy, por mi cumpleaños número 56, elegí este sendero polvoriento rodeado de muros de piedra seca, donde el silencio susurra con el viento y el camino conduce a un árbol con una marca de senderismo.
Tomada sobre Šilo, en un pequeño sendero de la isla que conecta lo cotidiano — la calle Kunjska, la bahía de Murvenica y la tienda local.
Quizás una escena común para algunos, pero para mí, este es mi camino — mi paz, mi pequeño refugio.
🇮🇹 Italiano – Il mio cammino • Il sentiero del mio compleanno
Cammino ancora sugli stessi sentieri — a volte in compagnia del mio amico a quattro zampe che commenta rumorosamente il mondo che ci circonda. Oggi, per il mio 56º compleanno, ho scelto questo sentiero polveroso circondato da muretti a secco, dove il silenzio canta con il vento e il cammino conduce a un albero con un segno escursionistico.
Scattata sopra Šilo, su un piccolo sentiero dell’isola che collega la vita quotidiana — via Kunjska, la baia di Murvenica e il negozio del paese.
Forse una scena ordinaria per qualcuno, ma per me è il mio cammino — la mia pace, il mio piccolo rifugio.
