Today is WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL DAY, and as Ladybugs help with keeping our environment happy, I felt it was a good example to celebrate this day.
I also celebrate 17 years today of my move to Vancouver, BC from my hometown of Montreal, QC, as of June 5, 2001. So it becomes a double celebration.
NB: When I took this photo I only had my cell phone on me as it was already late evening when I went for my walk, therefore the photo is not as clear as I would have liked.

I wish you all a happy world environment day.The World Environment Day(WED) was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972. Hosted every 5th of June by a different city and commemorated with an international exposition through the entire week, WED is used by the United Nations to stimulate awareness of the environment and encourage political attention and public action. Conservation of nature is greatly important for the preservation of human species and with the menace of Global Warming looming large constantly, WED, which addresses this problem, is all the more significant. You too can do your bit to contribute to this important event.
The very famous landmark of the mahabalipuram, the shore temple which could be found in almost all the photos and painting of mahabalipuram......i too have made it :)
Interesting fact: The first rays of the sun would fall on the temple.

I bring my own kerchief instead of using those FREE paper napkins at office.
I make it a point not to waste water, food, electricity and use less plastic, always use the dustbins....

On this World Enviornment Day, June 5 2007, let us all come together to start initiatives to help prevent Global Burning. I am using the word burning instead of warming because the effects of the rising temperature in the environment is already felt by many places around the world and very soon, we will see a situation like I have shared in this photograph. The Sun is brilliantly blaring, the Sea is boiling and thereby rising in its level, heat waves are spreading all over from it, dark smoke is clouding above us and parts of the Earth are getting burnt to black. Soon, many places in this beautiful Earth, places the mankind has so far toured and visited and enjoyed their holidays or living will be wiped out of existense. Soon is just a matter of 20-40 years away. Just a few hundreds of days away!!!!
There are a million discussions around us now where we can find info on what one can do in helping prevent the effect of this environmental disaster. Most of the actions we can do need to be localised, bassed on how the situation around our community is. Adopt some suitable initiatives.
Spread the concern to all around us and try and see how best we can preserve this Earth as close to how it is now or better than now for the generations that follow us. Like it was said in the famous quote, what we enjoy now is not granted to us by our forefathers, but, it is just what we have borrowed from our younger generations. We need to preserve and hand over to them. Let us join hands, across the world.

That Community billed abuts 50 Sq K.M...Now remaining That Community disconnected Fifteen square kilometers…Because we do not try to protect the natural friendly environment..!

Environment Ministry under the Government of India, India has produced a special song by India's Goodwill Ambassador Diya Mirza and President of Shamla Foundation Asif Bhamba. The biggest expanse of this song is that it is designed to take care of the environment in a healthy way, which also comes under the agenda of the United Nations. It was shot in Bandra based Seest La VA.

True to our commitment, a nature park-cum-monument is planned over an area of five acres in village Sitogunno (Abohar) in district Fazilka in the fond memory of legendary nature lover Amrita Devi Bishnoi and 363 other residents from Bishnoi community. This Nature park will have 363 Jand trees also known as Khejri (Prosopis Cineraria) with inscription of their names on each tree to eulogize the supreme sacrifice of Bishnoi community for saving trees. A 363 ft. tall minaret (minar) in memory of these passionate lovers of nature will also be installed here.
