Just a simple candid street style Snapograph captured at London UK of a guy going about his important business of helping to keep our streets clean.
"THANK YOU KINDLY" to anyone who finds this shot good enough to put amongst their "FAVES".
"THANK YOU KINDLY" to anyone who finds this shot good enough to leave a "Comment", I'll do my very best to reply to you individually.
This heap of commercial litter was probably dragged here by some well meaning individuals prior to the rise of the winter water table in the dune system. Now with a higher water table we have an island of plastic and general man made waste, in an SSSI at Ratray head, Aberdeenshire. Scotland.
Music for this one:
Three variations, two in black and white and one in color of this section of the brook. Variety is the spice of life, no? I could sit here all day but daylight is burning.
These are the prickers that stick your legs and ankles when you walk in grassy fields. Now they are caught, not my socks, but the flesh of a dried leaf!

Cutting trees to make space for new buildings. Some people call it urbanization, others call it environmental destruction.
Another environmental image. This time with the pygmy in flight. Hope you like it. Did not think that I had managed to get this image as these guys are like the lazuli bunting and can be wicked fast and unpredictable.
Indonesia is currently facing one of massive drilling induced environmental disaster in the form of uncontrolled huge mudflow and the consequent environmental damage which started on May 29, 2006 during drilling of an exploratory well Banjar Panji-1 in Siring village in Porong district in Sidoarjo regency, East Java, Indonesia, and is still continuing until this time.
For two years and five months the seepages in the earth has been oozing hot mud enough to fill 50 Olympic-size swimming pools every day. The mud also has accompanying methane and hydrogen sulphide, though in small quantities giving foul odor. The oozing mud has inundated huge area of land in and around and has made 12,000 families homeless by submerging 4 villages, 30 factories, 33 schools and hundreds of hectares of farmland and ponds. Now nobody knows when this mud flow will stop, it is estimated that this flow may last for another 30 years in the form of mud volcano. This mud flow has already resulted in subsidence of land due to subsurface voidage creation resulting in damage to nearby trunk gas pipe line and railway line and toll road. An expenditure of US$ 1.1 billion is estimated to meet compensation to the affected people and to rectify the infrastructural damage.
Finally the mud is being channeled to the Porong River to the sea, the environmental damage potential of which has not even been studied.

Northern Cape Province
South Africa
The Northern Cape is the largest and most sparsely populated province of South Africa. It was created in 1994 when the Cape Province was split up. Its capital is Kimberley. It includes the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park, part of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, an international park shared with Botswana. It also includes the Augrabies Falls and the diamond mining regions in Kimberley and Alexander Bay. The Namaqualand region in the west is famous for its Namaqualand daisies.
This photo was taken on my way to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
The Environmental Defense Fund has published these reminders. They are a great organization and I hope they don't mind me spreading the word.
or Solitary Snowy.
I just liked the light and the mood of the scene.
Shark Valley area of Everglades National Park
Metal waste from a salmon cannery that shut down in 1925 continues to break down and rust on the beach today, leaching into the barnacles that cling to it.
can't get enough shots of the stuff people keep in their back-yard .... not always the nicest but a lot of times interesting. ;)

A pair of Norfolk Southern heritage motors were the DPUs on train 776 on the Lurgan Line somewhere near Milepost 14.
A dusting of Tesla fuel was covering the countryside.
The young lady is lighting up some fireworks on the 4th of July. A lot of fireworks had already been ignited, making the street look like a war zone, complete with burnt-up red debris. It was almost surreal with the smoke and all, like a metaphor the for environmental destruction of earth.
Toned/ edited with Lightroom 6 and Nik Color Effects.
A repost of an earlier image....I really need to get out more !
